FREQUENCY ANALYZER [8 records]

Record 1 2012-05-16

English

Subject field(s)
  • Medical Instruments and Devices
  • Ultrasonography
  • Cardiovascular System
CONT

Blood Velocity Meter. A continuous ultrasonic wave in the megahertz region is scattered as it passes through blood. The back-scattered part of the signal can be collected by a receiving transducer next to the transducer emitting the continuous waves, and the returning signal will be shifted in frequency in proportion to the velocity of the blood in the vessel. This Doppler frequency shift can be detected and applied to a frequency meter(e. g. zero crossing detector) or frequency analyzer to produce a signal proportional to blood velocity.

CONT

The [multimedia] console, with its graphic display and audio channel, is able to inundate the student with a flood of visual and auditory stimuli, literally filling every channel, inlet, passage, and canal leading to the student’s brain.

CONT

The measurement of any sound stimulus is commonly made with a sound-level meter and a frequency analyzer.

OBS

CONT

Microwave: An electromagnetic wave which has a wavelength between about 0.3 and 30 centimeters, corresponding to frequencies of 1-100 gigahertz; however, there are no sharp boundaries distinguishing microwaves from infrared and radio waves.

OBS

Spectrum analyzer. A device which sweeps over a portion of the radio-frequency spectrum, responds to signals whose frequencies lie within the swept band, and displays them in relative magnitude and frequency on a cathode-ray-tube screen. In essence, it is a superheterodyne receiver having a local oscillator whose frequency is varied cyclically, usually at the power-line frequency.
