FREQUENCY DROP [7 records]

Record 1 2022-12-09

English

Subject field(s)
  • Printing Processes - Various
  • Inks and Colour Reproduction (Graphic Arts)
CONT

The major advantages of CIJ are the very high velocity(≈20 m/s [meter per second]) of the ink droplets, which allows for a relatively long distance between print head and substrate, and the very high drop ejection frequency, allowing for very high speed printing.

Key term(s)
  • continuous ink jet

The maximum torque which the motor will develop, with rated voltage applied at rated frequency, without an abrupt drop in speed.

OBS

Record 3 2004-08-04

English

Subject field(s)
  • Electrodiagnosis
  • Nervous System
DEF

The frequency of abnormal respiratory events per hour of sleep. These events are classified as Apneas or Hypopneas. Apnea is when breathing(airflow) stops for 10 seconds or more. Hypopnea is a partial blockage of airflow resulting in arousal and a possible drop in oxygen level. An RDI of 45 would indicate that the patient is experiencing complete or partial airflow blockage 45 times per hour.

CONT

Sleep-disordered breathing, which may include apneas, hypopneas and respiratory effort related arousals (RERAs), is the hallmark of OSA [obstructive sleep apnea]. It is currently standard in clinical practice and epidemiologic studies to assess the severity of sleep-disordered breathing by combining the number of apneas and hypopneas per hour of sleep in an index called the apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) or the respiratory disturbance index (RDI). This index has been shown to be both a reproducible measurement and a predictor of associated cardiovascular disease.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Électrodiagnostiques
  • Système nerveux
DEF

Record 4 2002-11-05

English

Subject field(s)
  • Radar, Radio Guidance and Goniometry
  • Atmospheric, Climatic and Meteorological Phenomena
CONT

The Chilbolton rain radar is a world leader in dual-linear-polarisation measurement techniques. The radar is mounted on a 25m antenna, which gives the radar a high spatial resolution of 0. 25°. Its operating frequency of 3 GHz ensures that the signal is attenuated as little as possible. Researchers are able to predict propagation effects up to at least 40 GHz using the radar, since it can characterise the distribution of rain drop sizes using differential reflectivity.

Record 5 1999-12-24

English

Subject field(s)
  • Metrology and Units of Measure
  • Atmospheric, Climatic and Meteorological Phenomena
CONT

The most widely used parameter of droplet size is the volume median diameter (Vmd) measured in micrometres. A representative sample of droplets of a spray is divided into two equal parts by volume so that one half of the volume contains droplets smaller than a droplet whose diameter is the vmd, and the other half of the volume contains larger droplets.

CONT

Drop-size distribution : The frequency distribution of drop sizes(diameters, volumes) that is characteristic of a given cloud or of a given fall of rain... For many purposes a useful single parameter representing a given distribution is the volume median diameter, i. e., that diameter for which the total volume of all drops having greater diameters is just equal to the total volume of all drops having smaller diameters.
