An instrument that measures very small distances by splitting a light beam into two parts directed over separate paths and then reuniting the beams. The difference in paths lengths is displayed as a light interference pattern, which can be related to the distance moved. 4, record 1, English, - interferometric%20detector

Space Based Detectors. Ground based interferometers are limited at the low frequency end by the practical difficulties of operating on Earth : the increasing difficulty of vibration isolation at lower frequencies, the effects of the curvature of the Earth for longer baseline detectors, and the expense of longer vacuum systems. There is also the fundamental difficulty of gravity gradient noise... The obvious solution to these specific difficulties is to use an interferometric detector in space. Interferometer arms may be made orders of magnitude longer than is practical on Earth. 6, record 1, English, - interferometric%20detector

5, record 2, French, - roche%20h%C3%B4te

Most LTMPF [Low-Temperature Microgravity Physics Facility] experiments are sensitive to random vibrations, charged particles, and stray magnetic fields.... A passive vibration isolation system attenuates higher frequency(>1Hz) vibration inputs from the ISS [International Space Station] to below 500 micro g rms. Several layers of magnetic shielding are built into the instrument probe to protect the experiments from on-orbit variations in the magnetic field environment. 2, record 3, English, - passive%20vibration%20isolation%20system
