Microwave sensors are particularly effective for measuring land surface hydrological parameters. Since microwave sensors enable us to observe ground surfaces both day and night, we can observe hydrologic phenomena that show remarkable diurnal variation. Further, an inherent feature of a microwave sensor lies in its wavelength between 1 mm and 1 m(0. 3 to 300 GHz of frequency), making it possible to conduct observations without influence from weather and to detect the scattering information not only at the surface, but also in the volume. Furthermore, we can directly observe liquid water having larger relative permittivity than other physical parameters because the scattering of microwaves heavily depends on relative permittivity. There are two types of microwave sensors : a passive microwave sensor that observe weak microwave signals naturally radiated from the Earth's surface, and an active microwave sensor that measures the backscattering coefficient of the transmitted beam. 2, record 8, English, - microwave%20sensor

Capacitive sensor. Capacitive proximity sensors are triggered by a change in the surrounding dielectric. The transducer of a capacitive sensor is configured to act as the plate of a capacitor. The dielectric property of any object present in the sensing field increases the capacitance of the transducer circuit and, in turn, changes the frequency of an oscillator circuit. A detector circuit senses this change in frequency, and signals the output to change state. 1, record 11, English, - capacitive%20sensor

A knock sensor was added to increase ignition performance. This is a piezoelectric accelerometer sensor that is designed to vibrate at the same frequency as the engine knock(pre-detonation). The sensor operates in consort with the EEC IV engine control system to retard ignition timing and hopefully eliminate the detonation before real engine damage occurs. 2, record 13, English, - accelerometer%20sensor

In this instrument, used to measure gas flows, a swirl is imparted to the flowing fluid by a fixed set of radial vanes. As this swirl goes into an expanding tube, it forms a precessing vortex that is detected by a heated thermistor sensor. The frequency of the precession is claimed to be proportional to the volumetric flow rate within an accuracy of 0. 75%. 1, record 14, English, - vortex%2Dprecession%20flowmeter
