Cultivation theory states that high frequency viewers of television are more susceptible to media messages and the belief that they are real and valid. Heavy viewers are exposed to more violence and therefore are affected by the mean world syndrome, the belief that the world is a far worse and dangerous place than it actually is. 2, record 1, English, - cultivation%20theory

The learning theory of Thorndike represents the original S-R framework of behavioral psychology : Learning is the result of associations forming between stimuli and responses. Such associations or "habits" become strengthened or weakened by the nature and frequency of the S-R pairings. The paradigm for S-R theory was trial and error learning in which certain responses come to dominate others due to rewards. 3, record 9, English, - trial%20and%20error%20learning

1, record 10, French, - interf%C3%A9rom%C3%A8tre%20annulaire

In the present development, the principle of operation of the ring laser gyro will be based on the "Sagnac effect" rotating ring interferometer. 1, record 11, English, - Sagnac%20effect%20rotating%20ring%20interferometer

The Sagnac effect... is understood as a phase shift of one counterpropagating wave with respect to another wave of this mode in a rotating ring interferometer, the shift being directly proportional to the angular velocity of rotation, the area enclosed by the interferometer, and the wave frequency. The Sagnac effect applies to a kinematic effect of the special theory of relativity(STR) and... ensues from the relativistic law of velocity composition. 2, record 11, English, - Sagnac%20effect%20rotating%20ring%20interferometer

3, record 11, French, - interf%C3%A9rom%C3%A8tre%20de%20Sagnac%20circulaire

Horns were first applied to earmolds in the late 1950s in the "Acoustic Modifier"--a short-canal, wide-bore mold. Enlarging a sound bore will enhance high frequencies passing through it; reducing it will reduce the high frequency components. The key to horn theory involved the change in bore diameter, not its shape. With the extended high frequency range of many of today's hearing aids, a horn of some type should be employed to preserve the performance and achieve a successful fitting. Probably the most popular style is the Libby Horn--a tapered, one-piece sound tube which is replaceable in the dispenser's office. 2, record 12, English, - earmold%20with%20Libby%20horn
