Transient organometallic complexes of CO₂. The use of time-resolved FTIR spectroscopy has allowed the observation of new organometallic-CO₂ complexes. Photolysis of Rh(Pme₃) 2(CO) Cl in supercritical CO₂ yields a transient neutral cyclometalloanhydride, Rh[ C(O) OC(O])(PMe₃) 2Cl. This metalloanhydride cleanly decomposes back to the starting material.
