Record 2 2004-04-26

English

Subject field(s)
  • Chemical Elements and Compounds
OBS

Metallo-organic: of, relating to, or being a compound in which the metal is attached directly to carbon.

CONT

Transient organometallic complexes of CO2. The use of time-resolved FTIR spectroscopy has allowed the observation of new organometallic-CO2 complexes. Photolysis of Rh(Pme3) 2(CO) Cl in supercritical CO2 yields a transient neutral cyclometalloanhydride, Rh[ C(O) OC(O])(PMe3) 2Cl. This metalloanhydride cleanly decomposes back to the starting material. The reactions of this new species along with other transient metal-CO2 complexes will be presented.
