Commercial reprocessing plants contain dissolvers based on one of two principles : batch operation or continuous operation using an apparatus with rotating mechanical parts. In a typical batch dissolver the fuel is sheared into a large basket which is immersed in the dissolver vessel. After the fuel has been leached, the basket is removed from the dissolver using a crane and then tipped to transfer the hulls and other debris to the encapsulation plant. This system requires extensive mechanical handling of the dissolver basket which is heavy and needs a large amount of maintainable equipment in the shielded dissolver cell. 1, record 1, English, - batch%20dissolver

Dissolveurs discontinus [...] 1, record 1, French, - dissolveur%20discontinu

A type of fuel cell in which the chemical reactants undergo reversible reactions, such that the cell may be recharged with a separate power source if desired; for example, the hydrogen/oxygen fuel cell may be recharged by providing power for water electrolysis with hydrogen storage. 2, record 2, English, - reversible%20fuel%20cell
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 CONT
[The terms] reversible fuel cell and regenerative fuel cell... generally have the same meaning and relate to technology that allows a fuel cell to both produce electricity from H2 and 02 and use electricity in the reverse direction to create H2 and 02. In some cases, this type of fuel cell can also be designed to store energy. The essential benefit of this type of "closed loop" system is that a new hydrogen infrastructure is not needed. 3, record 2, English, - reversible%20fuel%20cell

2, record 2, French, - pile%20%C3%A0%20combustible%20r%C3%A9versible

Another innovation is the back-surface reflector(BSR). Even in photovoltaic devices operating at theoretical maximum efficiency, less than 40% of the light to which it is sensitive is absorbed by the cell and converted to electricity. The rest travels through unabsorbed and becomes a system loss. However, the BSR reflects this light back through the cell for a second pass, which greatly increases the conversion efficiency. Also, the BSR reflects radiation to which the cell is not sensitive. This radiation is called out-of-band radiation, and cannot be converted to electricity with this given material bandgap. By reflecting the out-of-band radiation back through the cell, it passes back out the front to the heat source where it is recycled.(Essentially, it helps keep the heat source hot so less fuel is required.) 2, record 3, English, - back%20surface%20reflector
