The preliminary mechanical processing of the dried [hemp] stalks involves some fairly vigorous handling of the raw material, including breaking, scutching and the separation of the line fibres from the tow and other by-products. The stronger, more solid fibre bundles keep their original lengths and parallelism. During breaking and scutching the weaker and shorter fibres(tow), especially those at the foot of the stalks, break away and are removed together with the hurds, dust, soil, etc.... The hurds are removed pneumatically and may be sold for use as natural fertiliser, for the heat insulation of buildings, as fuel or as animal litter... The hemp tow is then passed through a conveyer drier that can use either hot or cold air. 1, record 2, English, - hemp%20tow

Fluid Bed Calciner. A fluidized bed reburning system... The exhaust gases from the fluid bed are used to dry the lime mud, which is then collected in two cyclones and discharged into a surge bin. The dry lime mud is blown into the calcination bed where the fuel is being burned, and is almost instantaneously transformed into lime pellets. The heavy pellets fall into the cooling compartment, while the lighter dust is recycled with the air for drying the mud. 1, record 6, English, - fluid%20bed%20calciner

1, record 6, French, - four%20%C3%A0%20calciner%20%C3%A0%20lit%20fluidis%C3%A9

Stone dust, fly ash, soot, and unburned droplets of fuel oil are the main types of particulate resulting from the operations of hot-mix asphalt paving plants. The predominant particulate emission is stone dust and its major source is the dryer. Other sources of particulate emissions include the screens, open bucket elevators, weigh hoppers, asphalt heaters, storage piles and bins, and traffic dust from the yard. Particulates from the dryer are normally termed "dryer dust", those from the screen cover, weigh and mix area, and hot material elevator are usually called "fugitive dust". 1, record 7, English, - fugitive%20dust
