The present invention relates to a modular nuclear fuel element, which can be adapted by an assembly system allowing it to be used in different nuclear power plants with horizontal and vertical cooling channels. The module is a cluster of parallel fuel rods mounted as circular concentric crowns and supported by a structural system. It has a single diameter fuel rod array where the ratio of the heat transfer area to the transverse rod area is higher than 330. It also has self-supporting fuel element spacer grids, which are collapsible sheaths attached to them with fewer than 13 welded end stoppers. 2, record 5, English, - fuel%20element%20spacer%20grid

Method and device for detecting a leak from a fuel element of an assembly for a nuclear reactor. The detection of the defective fuel assemblies may be effected under water in the pool, by acoustic, ultrasonic or eddy current methods of measurement. It is also possible to use cells called sipping test containers in which the release of radioactive products by the fuel assembly is promoted, these radioactive products being subsequently carried away by the water or a gas into a unit enabling them to be detected. 1, record 6, English, - sipping%20test%20container

... there is a need for a less expensive but equally durable control and "burnable poison" rod "spider" that will not obstruct fuel rod inspection, but will expose the individual rods for examination without imposing a need to dismantle the entire fuel assembly. There is, of course, a further need for a more flexible control and "burnable poison" rod assembly that will permit optimum fuel element relocation with the reactor core without requiring specific modifications or producing undesirable thermal effects. 3, record 7, English, - burnable%20poison%20rod%20assembly
