Hydrogen drones utilize hydrogen fuel cells for power. Hydrogen must be free of other elements and stored under high pressure to be a viable power source. Hydrogen is then converted within the fuel cell by mixing it with oxygen, and the byproduct is then removed with water. This process affords better energy density in comparison to battery drones. As a result, hydrogen drones can stay airborne for hours. 1, record 1, English, - hydrogen%20drone

A [coke drum] is a type of pressure vessel that uses heat and pressure to refine complex hydrocarbons into lighter, more useful products, such as gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel. Coke drums are an integral part of coker units and serve as the final step in the cracking process. During the process, crude oil is fed into a coker, where it is first heated to cracking temperature in a furnace. It is then sent through a transfer line to the coke drum for final processing. 3, record 5, English, - coke%20drum

When a piston in an engine is pushed up into its cylinder, the upward movement traps the mixture of air and fuel above it and compresses it to one-eighth or one-ninth of its original volume. Auto-start systems... can be installed on locomotives to automatically shut down and restart locomotives for fuel conservation and to protect critical systems. Locomotives equipped with auto-start will automatically shut down when they are idling for a set time and will automatically restart when certain parameters are met, such as when locomotive brake cylinder pressure falls below a prescribed level and when main reservoir pressure falls below 100 psi. However, the auto-start feature would be nullified if the locomotive is set to isolate, or if it has been shut down manually. 3, record 7, English, - auto%2Dstart%20system

2, record 7, French, - syst%C3%A8me%20de%20d%C3%A9marrage%20automatique

Nuclear Power Demonstration reactor. This was the prototype CANDU reactor, and the first power reactor in Canada. It was located upstream of AECL' s Chalk River laboratories, along the Ottawa River's south shore(i. e. in Ontario). The reactor had a maximum continuous output of 22 MWe gross(19. 5 MWe net)... The reactor was built as a joint AECL/Ontario Hydro/Canadian General Electric project, and was initially intended to use a vertically-fuelled pressure vessel reactor. The design was changed in 1957 to natural uranium fuel bundles in horizontal pressure tubes in unpressurized heavy water moderator, with on-line refuelling. These are hallmarks of the CANDU reactor. The reactor had 132 fuel channels(each fuel channel comprised a pressure tube inside a calandria tube) and the coolant leaving the channels was 7. 2 MPa and 277°C. The main reactivity control was by adjusting the heavy-water moderator level, which could be rapidly dumped for fast shut down. NPD was finally shut down on May 5 1987, for economic reasons... 4, record 18, English, - nuclear%20power%20demonstration%20reactor

Record number: 32, Textual support number: 1 OBS
Because of the need for flexibility in many areas of aerospace vehicle construction, it is often necessary to employ hose instead of rigid tubing for the transmission of fluids and gases under pressure. Specifications for hose to be used in aerospace vehicle systems are given in the Air Force-Navy Aeronautical Design Standard(AND) 10340. This specification covers hoses for fuel, oil, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other systems. Hose and hose assemblies for aircraft plumbing systems are manufactured in four different pressure categories : low-pressure, with a maximum operating pressure of 300 psi [2068 kPa] ;medium-pressure(300 to 1500 psi) [2068 to 10 342 kPa] ;high pressure(1500 to 3000 psi) [10 342 to 20 685 kPa] ;and extra-high-pressure(3000 to 6000 psi) [20 865 to 41 370 kPa]. It must be noted that the pressure ranges given above are general and that variations will be encountered in specific systems and installations. Hose assemblies are usually pressure-tested at a pressure at least twice the maximum operating pressure. The burst pressure is usually required to be at least four times the maximum operating pressure. Thus a good margin of safety is provided. 3, record 32, English, - flexible%20hose

Today all hot air balloon burners have one thing in common. They use liquid propane as their fuel source. When using liquid propane the burner has to serve a dual purpose. First it must convert the liquid propane to a vapor, so it can be burnt at the orifices to produce the heat that makes the balloon fly. Achieving this function is where each balloon manufacturer differs in burner design. If you compare the shape of the Avian burner coils to other manufacturers, you’ll notice it has a larger circular radius with few 90 degree bends in its preheat coils. The reason we design our burner coil this way is to utilize a very basic principle of fuel flow. "The fewer the restrictions to flow, such as tight bends in tubing, in the complete burner system, the greater the pressure will be when it is released at the burner orifices, giving a higher BTU [British thermal unit] output. 2, record 36, French, - serpentin%20de%20br%C3%BBleur

Normal fuelling is accomplished through dual fuel nozzle adapters located on the right wing leading edge spar at the fuelling stations. All fuelling operations, except fuel pump control, are accomplished at the fuelling station. Opening the station access door applies DC power to the fuelling system and removes the N3 inhibit to the centre tank fuel pumps. Fuel flows through the dual nozzles to pressurise a fuelling manifold. Fuelling valves control the flow of fuel from the fuelling manifold into each of the three switches on the fuelling panel. A fuel quantity may be preselected for each tank. The fuelling valves close automatically when the preselected quantity is reached or when the tank is full, whichever occurs first. A tank overfill system is provided to prevent fuel spillage. If any fuel is sensed in the surge tanks during fuelling, a signal is sent to close all fuelling valves. The aircraft is filled automatically by hydrant or tank truck pressure. All tanks may be fuelled at the same time. The main tanks may also be fuelled manually through over wing fill ports. There are no over wing fill ports for the centre tank. 4, record 55, English, - fuelling%20station

This means that the fuel supply is not dependent on the engine revs. A common rail system is built around four basic components : a high pressure pump with pressure regulator and inlet metering valve, a rail which contains a pressurised reserve of fuel, injectors which inject precise amounts of fuel into the combustion chamber as required and a Diesel Control Unit-the ’brain’ of the system, which precisely controls injector flow and timing as well as rail pressure while continuously monitoring the operating conditions of the engine. 4, record 74, English, - high%20pressure%20common%20rail

Le secret de la «rampe commune», c'est son tube interposé entre la pompe d'injection et les injecteurs. Environment Control and Life Support System(ECLSS) : The orbiter's Environmental Control and Life-Support System purifies the cabin air, adds fresh oxygen, keeps the pressure at sea level, heats and cools the air, and provides drinking and wash water. The system also includes lavatory facilities. The cabin is pressurized to sea level(14. 7 psi) with 21 percent oxygen and 79 percent nitrogen, comparable to Earth's atmosphere. The air is circulated through lithium hydroxide/charcoal canisters which remove carbon dioxide. The canisters are changed on a regular basis. Excess heat from the cabin and flight-deck electronics is collected by a circulating coolant water system and transferred to radiator panels on the payload bay doors where it is dissipated. The fuel cells produce about seven pounds of water each hour. It is stored in tanks, and excess water is dumped overboard. The lavatory unit collects and processes body waste, and also collects wash water from the personal hygiene station. The lavatory unit, located in the middeck area, operates much like those on commercial airlines but is designed for a weightless space environment. 3, record 82, English, - environment%20control%20and%20life%20support%20system

Bell 212 helicopter... Engine power loss. Engine tear-down inspections revealed that the number two engine was not operating on impact and the fuel oil heater had malfunctioned, however this malfunction alone would not cause the engine to stop operating. If fuel pressure upstream from the engine driven boost pump is lost when the fuel oil heater has malfunctioned(allowing the fuel to be heated), the engine will stop operating. Since the investigation revealed no other reason for the engine to stop operating, it is likely that the number two engine shut down due to a loss of line fuel pressure provided by the electrical boost pumps, coincident with the malfunctioning fuel oil heater. 3, record 88, English, - fuel%2Doil%20heater
