In the monolithic type pebble bed reactor, the dimension of the reactor core diameter becomes large, and nuclear control for a large-sized reactor having a large output scale is insufficient in a cooled state using only control elements(control rod, boron sphere) inserted into the reflector region. Furthermore, a reactor core control rod, which is forcibly inserted directly into the reactor core, is required in addition to the control elements inserted into the reflector region by gravity drop only. Moreover, cases have been reported that fuel spheres are broken if the control rod is inserted forcibly into the core because the pebble reactor core is full of fuel spheres accumulated inside the reactor core, which causes a serious drawback. 1, record 2, English, - pebble%20bed%20reactor%20core

Record number: 6, Textual support number: 2 OBS
Chemical looping combustion(CLC) is a novel method for facilitating CO2 separation from flue gases. The process is composed of two fluidized reactors, an air and a fuel reactor, as shown in Figure 1. 2. The fuel is introduced to the fuel reactor in a gaseous form where it reacts with an oxygen carrier to CO2 and H2O. The reduced oxygen carrier is transported to the air reactor, where it is oxidized back to its original state by air. As for the oxy-fuel combustion process, Nox formation is eliminated as oxygen is supplied to the combustor in the form of a metal oxide without any nitrogen present, also giving pure co2 out. The principle of the CLC process is the same as for the oxy-fuel process, where pure oxygen is supplied to the combustor, and it has the same absorption-regeneration nature of post-combustion. 4, record 6, English, - Ca%2Dbased%20looping%20cycle

2, record 11, English, - chemical%20looping%20combustion

An atomic absorption spectrophotometer measures element concentrations in solution by spraying(nebulising) the solution into a long narrow hot flame. Light from a hollow cathode lamp, containing the element to be analysed, passes above the long and narrow burner to a monochromator. The monochromator isolates ground state radiation from the hollow cathode lamp. The solution is sprayed into the fuel and air premixing chamber feeding the flame. Free atoms are produced in the flame because of the heat and reducing conditions. If the atoms are the same as the element in the lamp, then light is absorbed. The degree of absorption depends on the amount of that element present in the original solution. The results are compared with standard solutions which allow concentrations to be determined. The technique can be highly precise and accurate. 2, record 16, English, - atomic%20absorption%20spectrometer

Domestic burners usually are confined to the use of oils ranging in grade from No. 1 to No. 4 and employ either one of two methods to prepare the fuel oil for combustion. These are atomization(spraying) and vaporisation(heating). Atomization or spraying is divided into three types, namely, high-pressure atomization, low-pressure atomization, and centrifugal atomization.... The third way in which oil is atomized is by use of centrifugal force. The oil is fed to a rapidly rotating cup(3, 450 rpm or faster). It then spreads throughout this cup in a fine film and flies of the outer edge at a high rate of speed in a very finely divided state. Burners that make use of such centrifugal force are of two types from the standpoint of their design : the horizontal rotary type and the vertical rotary type. High-speed motors are required by burners that use this type of atomization exclusively. With centrifugal atomizing burners there is no contact between oil and air until both have left the burner and entered the combustion chamber. 1, record 18, English, - centrifugal%20atomization

There are a number of performance factors that determine how well your heating system is able to supply heat to your home. For all non-electric heating systems there are two basic approaches to defining efficient performance. Both measure the percentage of heat available in a fuel that is actually delivered as heat to the house. Steady state efficiency is a performance factor that is easily measured over a short period of time.
