L'intensité carbonique permet de reconnaître le moins polluant (du point de vue rejet de gaz carbonique) de plusieurs appareils, procédés ou méthodes. Plus l'intensité est faible moins l'appareil pollue, plus elle est élevée, plus l'appareil pollue.
