The present invention relates to a modular nuclear fuel element, which can be adapted by an assembly system allowing it to be used in different nuclear power plants with horizontal and vertical cooling channels. The module is a cluster of parallel fuel rods mounted as circular concentric crowns and supported by a structural system. It has a single diameter fuel rod array where the ratio of the heat transfer area to the transverse rod area is higher than 330. Commercial reprocessing plants contain dissolvers based on one of two principles : batch operation or continuous operation using an apparatus with rotating mechanical parts. In a typical batch dissolver the fuel is sheared into a large basket which is immersed in the dissolver vessel. After the fuel has been leached, the basket is removed from the dissolver using a crane and then tipped to transfer the hulls and other debris to the encapsulation plant. Systems Analysis of a Future Semi-Reusable Launcher, Based on a High Thrust Bleed Cycle Rocket Engine. In this paper a high thrust, cryogenic bleed cycle engine, to be used for propulsion of future reusable booster stages(liquid fly back boosters), of an expendable heavy lift launcher, is analyzed. The system configuration remains unchanged, in terms of total available fuel and the number of engines, hereas the variation of the engine parameters result in a change of total system mass and payload capacity. Different arrangements of bleed cycles are being analyzed, and compared with each other. The paper describes a simplified heat transfer model, used in the analysis of the suggested cycles. Constant Volume Sampler(CVS). Motor vehicle exhaust is a complex mixture of unburned fuel, combustion products(including a high water vapor content), and intake air that exits the tail pipe at high temperatures. In simulated driving conditions on the dynamometer, the volume of the exhaust emitted from the tail pipe is continually changing depending on where in the driving cycle the vehicle is(for example, during acceleration, during deceleration, at constant speed, or at idle). To quantitatively determine emission rates from vehicles, we use a constant volume sampling system, which maintains a constant total flow rate of vehicle exhaust plus dilution air. With a CVS system, as exhaust flow increases, such as during heavy acceleration, the dilution air is automatically decreased and the sampling source is representative of exhaust variations. This CVS system provides the source for all exhaust samples collected(regulated and unregulated). Because some compounds present in the exhaust are soluble in water, quantitative transfer requires that the diluted exhaust be maintained above its dew point by providing sufficient dilution air through the CVS.
