FULL ENERGY PEAK [3 records]

Record 1 2008-11-18

English

Subject field(s)
  • Energy (Physics)
  • Radiography (Medicine)
  • Atomic Physics
DEF

Of a spectrum of gamma radiation, the part of the spectral response curve corresponding to the absorption in the radiation detector by the photoelectric effect of the detected gamma energy.

OBS

In most cases the peak also contains the events caused by multiple processes and use of the expressions total absorption peak or full energy peak is to be preferred.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Énergie (Physique)
  • Radiographie (Médecine)
  • Physique atomique
OBS

photoélectrique : Cette graphie, puisée des Rectifications de l'orthographe recommandées par le Conseil supérieur de la langue française, est attestée dans le Petit Robert (2004).

Record 2 2008-02-19

English

Subject field(s)
  • Solar Energy
DEF

The equivalent number of hours per day when solar irradiance average 1 kW/m².

CONT

The intensity of the Sun's radiation changes with the hour of the day, time of the year and weather conditions. To be able to make calculations in planning a system, the total amount of solar radiation energy is expressed in hours of full sunlight per m², or Peak Sun Hours.

OBS

For example, six peak sun hours means that the energy received during total daylight hours equals the energy that would have been received had the irradiance for six hours been 1 kW/m².

French

Domaine(s)
  • Énergie solaire
DEF

Expression du nombre d'heures par jour où le rayonnement solaire sur Terre équivaut à la valeur moyenne de 1 kW/m² (un kilowatt par mètre carré).

Record 3 1997-11-26

English

Subject field(s)
  • Chemistry
DEF

Of a radiation spectrometer, the counting efficiency when considering only the events recorded in the full energy peak.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Chimie
DEF

Dans un spectromètre de rayonnement, [...] efficacité de comptage lorsqu'on ne considère que les effets enregistrés par le pic d'absorption de l'énergie totale.
