Cross crew qualification(CCQ) is the process of qualifying for a new aircraft type through training which covers only the differences between the new type and the aircraft type the pilot is currently qualified to fly. It applies to aircraft types which share Flight Operational Commonality and replaces the Full Type Rating course. 2, record 13, English, - cross%20crew%20qualification
Record number: 13, Textual support number: 1 OBS
For example, an A320 pilot moving to the A330 or A340 only needs to do the appropriate differences training to be qualified on the A330 or A340. The same applies to a pilot moving from the A330/A340 to the A320 Family, or between the A330 and A340. CCQ reduces training time and cost by 65% to 95%, compared to a Full Type Rating course. Transitioning pilots spend less time away from line flying and, as a result, can increase their productivity in the airline. CCQ is now well established. It is approved by authorities worldwide, including the JAA in Europe and the FAA in the United States, and is used by twenty-six Airbus family operators around the world. The trend towards MFF is on the increase, with pilots from 11 airlines practising it. 2, record 13, English, - cross%20crew%20qualification

Each of the two hydraulic systems for the Douglas DC-9 airplane is provided with an auxiliary, electrically driven, variable-displacement hydraulic pump. The pumps are explosion-resistant, hydraulic-fluid-cooled and lubricated, self-supercharged, and pressure-and horsepower-controlled. They are capable of supplying a nonpulsating flow of hydraulic fluid in varying volume, depending upon system pressure... Control of the pumps is accomplished by means of switches in the flight compartment. If one engine should stop or if the hydraulic pump on that engine should fail, it is merely necessary to turn on the electric pump switch to place the system back in full operation. Each pump is connected to its respective system by means of flexible hoses with a ground power suction disconnect fitting installed in the suction line. Conventional airborne gravimeters are essentially one-axis instruments which determine the magnitude of gravity by using a highly accurate accelerometer in flight to measure the magnitude of gravity along the local vertical. Although horizontal accelerometers are used on the platform, they are generally of poorer accuracy and are only suitable for supporting the alignment process. They cannot give the direction of the vertical with comparable accuracy. Thus, the term scalar gravimetry is used in this case. This is different with airborne gravity systems based on the principle of measuring the specific force vector by a three-axes inertial system and the aircraft acceleration vector by differential GPS. In this case, the three accelerometers of the inertial system are of the same accuracy and the three acceleration components of the aircraft show only small differences in accuracy due to the geometry of the GPS constellation. Thus, three components of each vector can be estimated with high accuracy and the full gravity disturbance vector can be obtained by differencing the specific force and the aircraft acceleration vector. 2, record 22, English, - specific%20force%20vector

«Combat persistence» as used here means the number of steady-state turns that can be accomplished at the flight condition of altitude and Mach number. These data assume the aircraft to be full of fuel at the initiation of combat. Again, one sees that the larger number of turns is achieved at speeds near the cruise speed; the airframe is efficient near cruise speed. The engines were specifically designed and chosen to match this point of airframe efficiency. Further the speed at which sufficient combat persistence is obtained for a "sensible" fight(allowing at least three turns) lie below Mach 1. 1, record 26, English, - combat%20persistence

The auxiliary rudder throw limiter restricts rudder throw travel, when flaps are in the 0 and 5 degree detents, to 17 degrees each side of faired position. Full rudder travel is available when flaps are extended to 15 degrees and beyond. The auxiliary rudder throw limiter consists of a single-acting hydraulic cylinder, a retractable rudder stop assembly, two springs, a limiter arm which is splined to the rudder torque tube, a control valve operated by the flap control and followup system, a flap/rudder stop inoperative light located on the flight compartment annunciator panel, and switches located above the retractable rudder stop and adjacent to flap followup control drum. 2, record 27, English, - rudder%20auxiliary%20throw%20limiter

The basic elements of much of the new technology can already be seen in operation. They include intelligent flight control in which, for example, simple stall warning devices and stick pushers are replaced by a flight control sub-system which positively controls angle of attack, applies engine power to maintain height or flight speed, and actively maintains the aircraft in the correct altitude for optimum performance if a full nose-up demand is maintained for a protracted period. 1, record 28, English, - intelligent%20flight%20control

The adoption of electrically-signalled computerised controls, combined with the use of the full capabilities of the flight-management system(FMS), has made it possible to eliminate from the A320 a number of avionics systems installed in aircraft like the A310, which had first generation digital systems.
