The Program of Legal Studies for Native People(PLSNP) offers a unique and exciting opportunity for Aboriginal people interested in studying law. The PLSNP is offered through the Native Law Centre at the University of Saskatchewan and is open to Aboriginal students from across Canada. It offers a Property law course and full academic support to prepare Aboriginal students for success in law school. It is also designed to provide an alternative means for Aboriginal students to be admitted to law school; to increase the number of Aboriginal professionals in the legal community; and to study Aboriginal issues in legal education.

A student exchange program which provides the opportunity for law students in common law program to study one full university session in a civil law program.

OBS

The same opportunity applies for students in the civil law program to study one full session in a common law program. The objective of this program is to promote a better understanding of the bijuridical nature of our Canadian justice system. This implies that students have to move to another province for the duration of the exchange. This program is presently under the responsibility of the Council of Canadian Law Deans.

The Advocacy Center offers a two-credit week-long course for training law students to be trial lawyers-ITAP-the Intensive Trial Advocacy Program. This innovative course immerses students in trial practice for seven full days, under the direction of a 25-person faculty. In one intense week, students learn to try a civil or criminal case, an opportunity available at few law schools across the country.
