... the solution — off-throttle steering — is now taken for granted by most PWC [personal watercraft] consumers. Many may not even realize their craft have the capability for good reason. The inclusion of OTS into most craft is relatively seamless. The system works by detecting two coinciding occurrences, the abrupt release of the throttle and a full turn to port or starboard. Electronic sensors note the two situations, and respond by increasing RPM [revolutions per minute] just enough to once again push some water through the jet nozzle. That small blast of propulsion is just enough to start the craft turning in the direction the driver has turned the handlebars, hopefully allowing the craft to begin an evasive maneuver and avoid the object in the craft's path. 2, record 1, English, - off%2Dthrottle%20assisted%20steering

Application of the brake pedal, which is linked to the master cylinder piston rod, causes the piston rod to push the piston forward inside the master cylinder casting. A slight forward movement blocks the compensating port, and the buildup of pressure begins. This pressure is transmitted to the brake assembly. When the brake pedal is released and returns to the "off" position, the piston return spring pushes the front piston seal and the piston back to full "off" position against the piston return stop. This again clears the compensating port. Fluid that was moved into the brake assembly and brake connecting line is then pushed back to the master cylinder by the brake piston which is returned to the "off" position by the pressure of the brake piston return springs. Any pressure or excess volume of fluid is relieved through the compensating port and passes back to the fluid reservoir. This prevents the master cylinder from locking or causing the brakes to drag. 2, record 4, English, - release%20brakes

Canada-United States Transportation Border Working Group(TBWG). The 2003 Compendium contains port descriptions(ie. ownership, physical layout, annual traffic data, etc.) as well as current information on on-going, planned and proposed infrastructure projects at border crossings, including their approaches. The Compendium focused on ports of entry with dedicated commercial operations or significant non-commercial traffic.... TBWG Compendium Subcommittee members proceeded to enhance the crossing descriptions with commodity and other new data, and all information was updated to 2004. The result is an on-line Border Infrastructure Compendium that provides a full picture of the busiest Canada-U. 1, record 5, French, - Recueil%20de%20l%27infrastructure%20frontali%C3%A8re%20en%20ligne

Direct injection(DI) refers to fuel injected directly into the combustion chamber above the piston. Direct injection has long been used on large diesel engines. Smaller diesels are increasingly adopting direct injection(vs. indirect injection into a pre-chamber). Direct injection also can be used in spark ignition(generally gasoline) engines instead of port fuel injection-for cleaner emissions, increased full throttle power and potentially for lean-burn operation. 4, record 6, English, - direct%20injection%20engine

The "Sun-Mar" three chamber system... The composting chamber. "Sun-Mar" engineers found that the ideal conditions for fast, odorless composting could only be provided in a rotating drum,(we call it the Bio-drum). The Bio-drum is uniquely able to keep the compost completely oxygenated, mixed, moist and warm, and so provide perfect conditions for fast, aerobic(and therefore odorless) composting. Waste enters the composting drum through an entry port located in the top of the Bio-drum. By turning the handle on the front of the unit, the drum rotates, and the compost tumbles,(assisted by a mixing baffle) thereby thoroughly and completely oxygenating and mixing every part of the compost. The Bio-drum is fitted with a door which closes automatically to keep the waste inside as the drum rotates. After turning, a lock automatically maintains the Bio-drum in a top dead centre position ready to receive new material. To ensure that the compost cannot get saturated, a screen at the rear of the drum filters any excess liquid directly into the evaporating chamber. At the same time, by protecting the compost from direct heat, the Bio-drum keeps the compost uniformly moist. Lastly, the Bio-drum has the volume to hold the necessary mass of material to retain the natural heat developed in the core of the compost. Insulation on the outside of the drum prevents heat loss. The warm, moist, oxygen rich conditions in the Bio-drum allow the microbes to quickly break down the waste into its essential minerals. When the drum gets 2/3 full, some compost is extracted into the finishing drawer. This is done simply by pulling the drum lock, and rotating the drum backwards. Now, the drum door remains open, and compost falls into the second chamber;-the compost finishing drawer. 1, record 13, English, - composting%20chamber

Le système à trois compartiments «Sun-Mar». [...] 1, record 13, French, - compartiment%20%C3%A0%20compostage
