The Rural Basic Landscape Training Program(Atlantic Region) will provide accredited, meaningful classroom and on-the-job training to 50 unemployed young people in Atlantic Canada. Participants will first be given intensive training in basic principles of landscaping. Then they will proceed to participating local landscape companies to be employed as landscape technicians for a full season(approximately 26 weeks) including a one week mid-term classroom training session. The entire program will be developed to mesh with national certification standards being adopted by the Canadian Nursery Trades Association. Successful completion of the program will qualify participants for permanent work in the landscape industry. Le programme sera conçu conformément aux normes nationales de reconnaissance professionnelle en voie d'être adoptées par l'Association canadienne des pépiniéristes.
