Le circuit anesthésique (encore appelé système ou montage anesthésique) est un assemblage de composants destinés à l'administration d'agents gazeux et/ou volatils. Certains fonctionnent en sens unique (sens système-patient), les gaz expirés étant rejetés à l'extérieur. D'autres récupèrent l'ensemble des gaz expirés. Les systèmes anesthésiques fonctionnent soit par inhalation (inspiration active par le patient), soit par insufflation à pression positive intermittente (ventilation assistée ou contrôlée), soit par injection (jet ventilation, c'est-à-dire injection intermittente à pression élevée dans un bronchoscope ou dans les voies aériennes).
