Cela conduit à regrouper dans une même zone d'un atelier les enceintes présentant des nuisances similaires, à disposer dans une zone centrale les enceintes contenant les appareils du procédé et à créer, entre les différentes zones, une cascade de pressions décroissantes depuis la zone périphérique jusqu'à la zone centrale, la zone périphérique étant elle-même à une pression inférieure à la pression atmosphérique.
