Dependency, in its most basic sense, refers to a reliance on a particular substance to function normally. This reliance may be driven by a physical need, wherein the body has adapted to the presence of the substance and requires it to avoid withdrawal symptoms. More broadly, it can also involve a psychological element, where the individual feels unable to cope without the substance, leading to a sense of attachment and habituation.

The simple(brachydont) teeth are the first premolars(wolf tooth) and canines that have a distinct crown and root, but have no function for the domestic horse. The incisors and molars(cheek teeth) are hypsodont, like the molars of ruminants(cows, goats and sheep etc). This type of tooth has a large body that continues to erupt into the horse's mouth as they are worn down by fibrous feed material. Most of the tooth is below the gum line in younger horses and continues to develop as it enters the mouth.

Restrictive cardiomyopathy(RCM) is a rare form of heart muscle disease that is characterized by restrictive filling of the ventricles. In this disease the contractile function(squeeze) of the heart and wall thicknesses are usually normal, but the relaxation or filling phase of the heart is very abnormal. This occurs because the heart muscle is stiff and poorly compliant and does not allow the ventricular chambers to fill with blood normally. This inability to relax and fill with blood results in a “back up” of blood into the atria(top chambers of the heart), lungs and body causing the symptoms and signs of heart failure.

When Leaders met in Cancun for the first anniversary of the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America(SPP), they recognized that more direct advice from the private sector would help to drive progress on measures that would be most effective in enabling North American companies to attract investment and create jobs. The results was the creation of the North American Competitiveness Council(NACC), a trilateral advisory body made up of business leaders from each of the three countries. In doing so, Leaders decided that the NACC should function fully independently of governments. NACC members then requested the support of organizations with relevant expertise in each country to act as their secretariats, and my Council is pleased to be serving as the Canadian secretariat.

Their function is supposed to be like that of a lake, regulating the excess or deficiency of water in the rivers-the main meridians. Six of the eight extra meridians have no acupuncture points of their own. They use the acupuncture points of the twelve main meridians. They do not have a circulation of energy. The exceptions are the Governing Vessel and Conception Vessel, which not only have their own acupuncture points but have their own circulation of energy.
