Evoked potentials are widely used in assessing neurophysiological function of patients, with stimulation most commonly provided by auditory, somatosensitive or visual inputs. In the pattern electroretinogram(PERG), the electrical response of the retina to stimulation by a changing visual pattern is recorded by fine electrodes applied on the surface of the eye. Stimulation is usually provided by a reversing black-and-white checkerboard pattern or grating, in which the overall luminance remains constant.... PERGs were recorded at the clinical Eye Research Centre of St Paul' s Eye Unit, Royal Liverpool University Hospital... In each subject, two recordings were made from both eyes(36 recordings in total). 4, record 1, English, - pattern%20electroretinogram

2, record 1, French, - %C3%A9lectror%C3%A9tinogramme%20par%20inversion%20%C3%A0%20damier

Combat service support command relationship used when the nature of the operation makes a complete transfer of administrative command impossible or uneconomical because of time, distance, or resources. The function(s) not transferred will be stated(eg, "personnel administration"). The gaining commander has full authority and responsibility for all other service support activities. Exclusion of a function does not preclude the gaining unit or formation from providing advice or, in an emergency, support in the excluded activity.

In programmable matter, a voxel is a fundamental unit from which complex devices could be built. A voxel could be a synthetic particle of varying size made from materials ranging from silicon to ceramics to plastics to titanium. Voxels could be tailored to behave as any one of a wide range of subsystems–an energy-storage device, an insulator, a protective shell, an antenna or even a microcomputer. Voxels could be assembled and, together, programmed to change shape or function and collectively form different objects. 2, record 15, English, - voxel

The primary and secondary circuits were housed in the “receiver” cabinet, which was separate from the cabinet containing the detector and amplifier circuits, a practice that was customary at that time. The tickler circuit for the regenerative function was contained in the receiver unit. Today all hot air balloon burners have one thing in common. They use liquid propane as their fuel source. When using liquid propane the burner has to serve a dual purpose. First it must convert the liquid propane to a vapor, so it can be burnt at the orifices to produce the heat that makes the balloon fly. Achieving this function is where each balloon manufacturer differs in burner design. If you compare the shape of the Avian burner coils to other manufacturers, you’ll notice it has a larger circular radius with few 90 degree bends in its preheat coils. The reason we design our burner coil this way is to utilize a very basic principle of fuel flow. "The fewer the restrictions to flow, such as tight bends in tubing, in the complete burner system, the greater the pressure will be when it is released at the burner orifices, giving a higher BTU [British thermal unit] output. 2, record 39, French, - serpentin%20de%20br%C3%BBleur

In evaluating the performance of an antenna as a radiating system one considers only the field at a large distance, where the induction field can be neglected. The antenna is then treated as an effective point source, radiating power that, per unit solid angle, is a function of direction only. The directive properties of an antenna are most conveniently expressed in terms of the "gain function"... The gain function is defined as the ratio of the power radiated in a given direction per unit solid angle to the average power radiated per unit solid angle... The maximum value of the gain function is called the "gain"... The gain of an antenna is the greatest factor by which the power transmitted in a given direction can be increased by using that antenna instead of an isotropic radiator. 2, record 54, English, - gain%20function

Generally, the scattering coefficient, that is scattering area per unit area, is a function of incident angle and the scattering angle. However, in the case of remote sensing, the scattering angle is identical to the incident angle because the receiving antenna of radar or scatterometer is located at the same place as the transmitting antenna. Therefore, in remote sensing only back-scattering may be taken into account. 2, record 69, English, - scattering%20coefficient

The total emissive power... is the total thermal radiation energy emitted by a surface element into the entire volume above the surface per unit time per unit area(emissive power, radiant flux density).... In the study of real surfaces it is convenient to define an ideal surface. The ideal surface is called a black surface or a black body, where all energy incident upon the body is absorbed, regardless of direction, wavelength or any often identifiable energy characteristic. Since, all energy is absorbed a=1, r=0, t=0. A perfect absorber is also a perfect emitter. Because the O2 sensor must be pre-heated to function, many newer units contain a little 12 volt heater that brings it up to temperature sooner, offering better fuel economy and driveability earlier. These sensors can be identified by the number of wires coming out of the unit. Just one wire means you don’t have a heater. Those that have three wires use one for the signal, and two for the heater circuit. Those that have four wires use one for the signal, one for the signal' s ground, and two for the heater. In this case usually the signal wire is shielded against interference, much like common television coaxial cable. 4, record 93, English, - heated%20exhaust%20gas%20oxygen%20sensor

Most engines with a turbo use sensors with heaters because the turbo steals so much of the superheat energy as it uses it to pump additional air in the intake. Without the heater, the sensor should not get hot enough to give good readings, especially when the turbo is being used. The Suzuki 1.0 liter engines unfortunately do not employ a lambda sensor with a heater. 4, record 93, English, - heated%20exhaust%20gas%20oxygen%20sensor

3, record 93, French, - sonde%20d%27oxyg%C3%A8ne%20chauffante

The basic attitude sensor was the three-gyro inertial reference package. It contained two air-tight integrating gyro units to sense pitch and yaw, and one miniature integrating gyro unit to sense roll. The pitch and roll gyros were torqued by signals obtained by two Barnes mod IIA infrared horizon sensors. Gyrocompassing oriented the vehicle to an orbit plane yaw reference by detecting a component of the programmed pitch rate through the roll horizon sensor. The geocentric pitch rate(typically 4 deg/min, for a low-altitude orbit) was programmed as a constant torque to the pitch gyro. This pitch component, if a yaw error was present, would be sensed differentially when compared with the roll components of the two horizon-sensor heads. The differential would be seen as a function of yaw error. 2, record 96, English, - roll%20component

2, record 97, English, - pitch%20component

During heading align, the rotor of the resolver is positioned so that it transforms the N-S and E-W liquid level signals into pitch and roll components which are referenced to heading. The pitch component is amplified, demodulated and summed with amplified and demodulated feedback signals from the VG [vertical gyro] roll and pitch pickoffs and the pitch synchro. The combined signal is then modulated, amplified and converted to DC [direct current] to drive the platform pitch gimbal torque motor until the input signals are nulled. 3, record 97, English, - pitch%20component

2, record 97, French, - composante%20en%20tangage
