1, record 15, French, - %26oelig%3Bd%C3%A8me%20de%20la%20face

The palliative performance scale is a reliable and valid tool used for palliative care patients. Developed by Victoria Hospice Society, British Columbia, the PPS guides the assessment of a patient's functional performance. The PPS is divided into 11 categories that are measured in 10% decremental stages(100% to 0%). There are five observable parameters included in the functional assessment : 1) Degree of ambulation 2) Ability to do activities 3) Ability to do self-care 4) Intake 5) Level of consciousness. Azides are a group of both organic and inorganic compounds containing the N3 functional group. In general, azides are reactive and toxic. In fact, inorganic azides are commonly used as preservatives in biological solutions because of the ability of the N3 group to bind tightly to cytochromes and block electron transport and ATP synthesis. All of the heavy metal azides and most, if not all, of the light metal azides are explosive under the right conditions. Magnetic bubble memory testers are used to examine bubble memory systems. Testers vary from unit to unit and in their ability to test memory devices of various capacities. Units can accommodate different memory architectures including serial, major/minor loop, block replicate, and even/odd configurations. They may offer capabilities for diagnostics testing(which isolates and defines design problems), device evaluation testing, and parallel functional testing. A computer may provide the central control and data collection functions for the magnetic bubble memory tester. The purpose of the loop status memory is to maintain a bit map of defective minor loops as they occur so that bubbles will be written into bad loops in later operations. This technique of maintaining minor loop status reduces test times. 1, record 36, English, - magnetic%20bubble%20memory%20tester

Vineland Social Maturity Scale : a scale designed to assess social maturity in terms of the ability to come to terms with one's social needs and assume responsibility. Norms are available up to age twenty-five. One scale may also be used with younger or retarded people. A "social age"(SA) and a "social quotient" may be answered from the 117 items. The Vineland Social Maturity Scale, originally developed by Edgar A. Doll, represented an early attempt to measure social competence. Doll defined social competence as "a functional composite of human traits which subserves social usefulness as reflected in self-sufficiency and in service to others. "This aspect of human behavior has also been termed adaptive behavior and has been incorporated as a major component in the definition of mental retardation. 3, record 38, English, - Vineland%20Adaptive%20Behavior%20Scale

A variation of the mixed lymphocyte culture(MLC) techniques that is a functional test of the ability of cytotoxic lymphocytes(CTL) to kill target cells. Lymphocytes from two individuals are cultured together for several days, one population having been prevented from proliferating by treatment with radiation or mitomycin(a "one-way" MLC) ;they are then cultured for several hours with 51CR-labeled target cells that are HLA-identical to the stimulator cells. Cytotoxicity is measured as percentage of 51CR released from specific target cells compared to percentage of 51CR released from control(nonspecific target) cells. 1, record 39, English, - cell%2Dmediated%20lympholysis
