In knowledge communication systems, there is a special module, often called the expert, that contains a representation of the knowledge to be communicated. ... The expert module fulfils a double function. On the one hand, it acts as the source for the knowledge to be presented. This includes generating explanations and responses to the student as well as tasks and questions. On the other hand, the expert module serves as a standard for evaluating the student’s performance. For this function, it must be able to generate solutions to problems in the same context as the student does so that their respective answers can be compared. 4, record 1, English, - expert%20module

A standard medical approach, indeed a common lay-person's approach, to thinking about disability involves viewing it as a problem that exists in a person's body. As a consequence, that individual is thought to require treatment or care to fix the disability, to approximate normal functioning, or perhaps as a last measure, to help the individual adapt and learn to function despite the disability. So construed, disability is primarily an individual' s medical problem in need of treatment.... this medical model of disability holds that "a person's functional limitations(impairments) are the root cause of any disadvantages experienced and these disadvantages can therefore only be rectified by treatment or cure. CSU 89 was created as the result of the fusion of CSU 8 and CSU 9. The two groups have different clients and still hold their own separate meetings. Part of Architectural and Engineering Services/Property and Facilities Management, Real Property Services. "On April 1, 1996, RPS formally implemented a new organizational model based on Client Service Units(CSUs) and Centres of Expertise(COEs). The CSUs are a dedicated organizational unit through which services are provided to a singular client or a portfolio of clients. The CSUs are supported by COEs which act as stewards of skills and knowledge in RPS business lines and program management. COEs manage a resource pool that may dedicate people on a full time basis to a particular CSU or provide services from ’home base’ to a number of CSUs. The CSUs are revenue centres and the COEs are cost centres. The NCA plays a national role and as such, the CSUs and COEs in the NCA are called National Client Service Units(NSCUs) and National Centres of Expertise(NCOEs). In addition to the provision of operational services to the NCA, the NCOEs formulate policy, establish national product standards, develop new/enhanced products and services for delivery to the CSUs and oversee their implementation. The NCOEs provide functional direction to Regional COEs in support of Real Property Services nationally. The NCSUs provide a focal point for national clients and furnish functional guidance to Regional CSUs. " 1, record 6, English, - Client%20Service%20Unit%2089

By functional thinking we mean the inclination to model phenomena with functions. More specifically, the recognition that certain behaviors in a situation can be described and investigated by constructing and using mathematical functions. Thus, the functions are built for the purpose of investigating some situation and are not given a priori to the students. In addition, the functions so constructed are quite general, not necessarily defined by algebraic expressions, and not necessarily real valued functions of a real variable. 2, record 8, English, - functional%20thinking

At the top level, they find the functional model described earlier. This functional model is based on an aggregate model, which deals with the behaviours of groups of similar particles forming entities like a gas or a liquid. Finally, the behavior of these aggregate entities can be explained in terms of an underlying model. This study emphasizes the hierarchical relations between models. Like scripts with subscripts, models support one another in a "reductionistic" fashion where some relations in one model can be explained in terms of another, lower-level model. 2, record 15, English, - aggregate%20model
