The Community Pasture Program is the Prairie Farm Rehabilitation Administration's largest and longest-running contribution to soil conservation on the prairies, created in the 1930s. The mandate for the Program is to conserve the land resource, protect it from future deterioration due to drought while utilizing the land primarily for the grazing and breeding of livestock.
