Riprap that is large enough to resist all the hydraulic forces can fail if channel migration or scour undermines the toe support. When the riprap toe is undermined, it can shift and remain functional to some degree. Often an extra volume of riprap is included at the toe for this purpose, or the riprap toe is trenched to the depth of potential degradation and contraction scour. 1, record 1, English, - riprap%20toe

CSU 89 was created as the result of the fusion of CSU 8 and CSU 9. The two groups have different clients and still hold their own separate meetings. Part of Architectural and Engineering Services/Property and Facilities Management, Real Property Services. "On April 1, 1996, RPS formally implemented a new organizational model based on Client Service Units(CSUs) and Centres of Expertise(COEs). The CSUs are a dedicated organizational unit through which services are provided to a singular client or a portfolio of clients. The CSUs are supported by COEs which act as stewards of skills and knowledge in RPS business lines and program management. COEs manage a resource pool that may dedicate people on a full time basis to a particular CSU or provide services from ’home base’ to a number of CSUs. The CSUs are revenue centres and the COEs are cost centres. The NCA plays a national role and as such, the CSUs and COEs in the NCA are called National Client Service Units(NSCUs) and National Centres of Expertise(NCOEs). In addition to the provision of operational services to the NCA, the NCOEs formulate policy, establish national product standards, develop new/enhanced products and services for delivery to the CSUs and oversee their implementation. The NCOEs provide functional direction to Regional COEs in support of Real Property Services nationally. The NCSUs provide a focal point for national clients and furnish functional guidance to Regional CSUs. " 1, record 3, English, - Client%20Service%20Unit%2089

Electro-osmosis is the transport of water from one electrode to another. It results from the support medium being charged. At neutral and alkaline pH the charge is usually negative, the charged medium therefore attempts to move towards the anode. To balance this, positively charged water molecules (H3O+) move to the cathode. This movement of water does not affect the fractionating capacity but can cause loss of water from reservoirs, thus altering the homogeneity of the electrophoretic field. 4, record 15, English, - electroosmosis

Method based on the covalent attachment of enzymes to water insoluble matrices. It is the most widespread and one of the most investigated approaches to enzyme immobilisation. The selection of conditions for immobilization is more difficult than in the cases of the other carrier binding methods described, and frequently involves more complicated and less mild conditions than the other methods, but, since covalent bonds are being formed, stable immobilized enzyme preparations which do not leach enzyme into solution in the presence of substrate or high ionic concentration solutions are formed in almost all cases. The immobilization of an enzyme by covalent attachment to a support matrix must involve only functional groups of the enzyme that are not essential for catalytic action, and therefore no reagents must be used which could affect the binding and active sites of the enzyme. 2, record 16, English, - covalent%20binding

At the top level, they find the functional model described earlier. This functional model is based on an aggregate model, which deals with the behaviours of groups of similar particles forming entities like a gas or a liquid. Finally, the behavior of these aggregate entities can be explained in terms of an underlying model. This study emphasizes the hierarchical relations between models.
