The technology of EBR is based on the fundamental principles of electrochemistry, microbiology, and electrokinetics. When wastewater enters the chamber of EBR, it undergoes an electrochemical reaction. This reaction causes a voltage gradient across the chamber that drives the movement of the charged ions. These charged ions create an electric field, which promotes the transfer of electrons between the bacterial cells present in the wastewater. The bacteria remain active during this process and consume the organic and inorganic contaminants, present in the wastewater. As a result, the contaminants are degraded into simpler forms and eventually transformed into harmless by-products or released into the environment. 2, record 6, English, - electro%2Dbiochemical%20reactor

The double-flash steam plant is an improvement on the single-flash design that can produce 15-20% more power output for the same geothermal fluid conditions. Triple-flash plants add another stage of flashing, thereby further raising the efficiency of exergy utilization but at the expense of increased complexity, more equipment, and higher capital costs.... many aspects of double-and triple-flash plants are similar to a single-flash plant... The fundamental new feature is one or two additional flash processes imposed on the separated liquid leaving the primary separator in order to generate additional steam, albeit at lower pressures than the primary steam. 3, record 16, English, - triple%2Dflash%20steam%20power%20plant

With the rise in urban population comes a demand for solutions to offset environmental problems caused by urbanization. Green infrastructure(GI) refers to engineered features that provide multi-ecological functions in urban spaces. Soils are a fundamental component of GI, playing key roles in supporting plant growth, infiltration, and biological activities that contribute to maintenance of air and water quality. However, urban soils are often physically, chemically or biologically unsuitable for use in GI features. Constructed technosols(CT), consisting of mixtures of organic and mineral waste, are man-made soils designed to meet specific requirements and have great potential for use in GI. 2, record 17, English, - constructed%20technosol

At the heart of machine translation and generative AI translation lies a fundamental distinction in their approach to translating text. MT relies on a rule-based approach, utilizing a vast database of parallel translation pairs to identify patterns and translate text accordingly.... In contrast, GenAI translation harnesses the power of artificial intelligence to generate human-quality translations. GenAI models are trained on massive amounts of text data, allowing them to learn the intricacies of language and generate translations that capture the subtleties of meaning, cultural nuances, and stylistic nuances. 4, record 25, English, - GenAI%20translation

The goal of this study is to show the feasibility of designing a space habitat that advances the ability of humans to live in space for long periods. We first review the previous work on space explorations and summarize five unsolved fundamental problems : providing gravity, radiation protection, sustainable life support systems, a large open space for human physiological and psychological comfort(survivable by professionals in trades other than highly trained astronauts), and a growth strategy to avoid the economic infeasibility of starting with the largest final version of the habitat. 1, record 29, English, - space%20habitat

1, record 29, Spanish, - h%C3%A1bitat%20espacial

What is biochemistry? Biochemistry explores chemical processes related to living organisms. It is a laboratory-based science combining biology and chemistry. Biochemists study the structure, composition, and chemical reactions of substances in living systems and, in turn, their functions and ways to control them. Biochemistry emerged as a separate discipline when scientists combined biology with organic, inorganic, and physical chemistry. One foundational law of quantum physics states that when it comes to making measurements, certain pairs of physical properties are in a seesaw relationship with one another : reducing the uncertainty, or noise, of one measurement increases that of the other. The Besselian elements are a series of time-dependent variables used to calculate various aspects of a solar eclipse. They describe the movement of the Moon's shadow with respect to the fundamental plane. This plane passes through the center of Earth and is oriented perpendicular to the Moon's shadow axis. Next, the shadow cone is projected onto Earth's surface including the effects of Earth's rotation, the flattening of Earth and the latitude, longitude and elevation of the observer. The local circumstances at the observer's position can then be calculated including the eclipse contact times, eclipse magnitude and the duration of totality(or annularity). 2, record 55, English, - Besselian%20element

Jus in bello, also referred to as international humanitarian law(IHL), applies to all warring parties irrespective of the reasons for the conflict. Necessity and proportionality have always been core principles of both branches of the jus belli principles that apply to both the authority to employ military force and the regulation of actual employment. However, in the jus ad bellum context, they have never before been viewed as principles to regulate operational and tactical execution. Instead, in that context they frame the legality of national or multinational resort to military force in self-defense. Once the decision is made to employ force pursuant to this authority, the jus in bello variant of these principles (necessity of the mission and proportionality of collateral damage) operate to regulate the application of combat power during mission execution (in other words, they provide the foundation for the regulation of the application of combat power in the context of the self-defense-justified mission). 5, record 56, English, - international%20humanitarian%20law
