CFUW is a non-partisan, voluntary, self-funded organization with over 100 CFUW clubs, located in every province across Canada. Since its founding in 1919, CFUW has been working to improve the status of women and to promote human rights, public education, social justice, and peace. Every year, CFUW and its clubs award close to $1 million to women to help them pursue post-secondary studies. CFUW also provides funding for library and creative arts awards.

La FCFDU est un organisme bénévole, non partisan et autofinancé qui compte plus de 100 clubs de la FCFDU, situés dans chacune des provinces canadiennes. Depuis sa création en 1919, la FCFDU œuvre à améliorer la situation des femmes ainsi qu'à promouvoir les droits de la personne, l'éducation du public, la justice sociale et la paix. Chaque année, la FCFDU et ses clubs accordent près de 1 million de [dollars] aux femmes pour les aider à poursuivre leurs études postsecondaires. La FCFDU assure aussi le financement des prix des récipiendaires choisies par le comité des bibliothèques et des arts créatifs.
