The gastrointestinal(GI) tract of mammals is home to a large number and high diversity of microorganisms, including bacteria, archaea, viruses, and fungi, which together build a complex micro-ecosystem and shape the host's physiology[. Many] studies have focused on the role of bacteria in the gut microbiome while overlooking the intestinal fungi, partly because of the low abundance of the latter, as they account for only 0. 01–0. 1% of the whole community... However, accumulating evidence suggests that the fungal community, also referred to as the mycobiota, is indeed an important member of the microbiota, thereby requiring detailed characterization... the gut mycobiota has also been implicated in various pathologies, particularly in intestinal inflammation and infection. 3, record 1, English, - intestinal%20mycobiota

Ascochyta Blight of Lentil. Symptoms appear on leaves, stems and pods as white to tan coloured spots, often with a darker margin. The centres of lesions are often speckled with tiny, black fruiting bodies (pycnidia) which contain the spores of the fungus. When the disease becomes severe, leaves may drop prematurely and shoots may be blighted. Dieback and flower and pod abortion are the main causes of yield loss. 3, record 2, English, - ascochyta%20blight%20of%20lentil

No-dig gardening is a method that aims for minimal disturbance of the soil, so that the natural processes can be preserved. This allows the natural organisms to thrive, increasing the soil' s overall health and therefore that of your plants. An example of these organisms is mycorrhizal fungus, which forms a mutualistic relationship with plants and aid in root growth. Digging your garden can break up the fungal threads in the soil, meaning that your plants don’t benefit from these helpful organisms. No-dig gardening allows natural relationships between organisms to flourish and preserves the overall structure of the soil, leading to improved plant growth. 1, record 17, English, - no%2Ddig%20gardening

Disease of sugar beet caused by Peronospora farinosa (formerly P. schachtii). 4, record 40, English, - sugar%20beet%20downy%20mildew
Record number: 40, Textual support number: 1 OBS
Symptoms : All aboveground plant parts may be affected. Large, light green leaf spots develop on the upper leaf surfaces. Under moist conditions, a white to gray moldy appears on the lower or upper leaf surfaces. Affected leaves may wilt, then die. If environmental conditions become unfavorable for downy mildew, plants may show recovery by developing healthy leaves, or other pathogens may be encouraged. During fall wet periods, most young petioles or leaves are covered with a fungal growth that often moves into the crown. Crown infections may permit other root-decay organisms to invade the plant. Crown infection causes excessive leaf proliferation which in turn causes misshapen bulbs. 5, record 40, English, - sugar%20beet%20downy%20mildew

Blind seed disease, caused by Gloeotinia temulenta, can cause considerable losses in forage grasses managed for seed production. ... The fungus infects the developing embryo, which then becomes a partially shrunken, rusty-brown caryopsis (small, dry fruit) rather than a healthy seed. Infected seeds are indistinguishable from healthy seeds, but they can be detected when glumes are removed. The fungus survives in infected seeds in the soil and reproduces above-ground in the developing grass floret. The spores are wind-blown and gain entry to an open floret just below the stigma, completing the primary infection. The fungus destroys the embryo, preventing seed formation and producing the typical "blind seed." 3, record 45, English, - blind%20seed

Infection with [Aphanomyces] invadans is a seasonal epizootic condition of great importance in wild and farmed freshwater and estuarine fish. It has a complex infectious aetiology and is clinically characterised by the presence of invasive A. invadans infection and necrotising ulcerative lesions, typically leading to a granulomatous response. Infection with A. invadans is most commonly known as epizootic ulcerative syndrome (EUS). 4, record 48, English, - epizootic%20ulcerative%20syndrome

2, record 51, French, - peptide%20antimicrobien

Proteases act on proteins and break them down into smaller units. Some proteases are useful in breadmaking because they reduce mixing time and produce a more pliable, extensible dough with good handling properties. Sound flour has very little proteolytic activity. If required, proteases may be added in the form of malted cereal flours or various fungal protease preparations. Proteolytic enzymes require time to achieve their full effect on dough. In the sponge-and-dough process, protease is usually added to the sponge stage to give the enzyme more time to act and eliminate the inhibiting effect of salt which is added at the dough stage. 2, record 58, English, - proteolytic%20enzyme

2, record 58, French, - enzyme%20prot%C3%A9olytique

The use of heat stable enzymes can retard the staling of baked and leavened cereal products such as bread. A concentrated protective sugar medium has been developed to solubilize or disperse a fungal alpha-amylase enzyme before it is incorporated in a dough. This medium protects the enzymes against thermal denaturation, thereby enabling the enzyme to remain active during baking and until the starch of the dough becomes gelatinized and subject to enzyme attack. 2, record 79, English, - heat%20stable%20enzyme

For CWRS [Canada Western Red Spring] and CWAD [Canada Western Amber Durum], there are specific limits for kernels damaged by grasshopper and armyworm, midge and sawfly; grasshoppers and armyworms chew out sections of kernels, particularly the ends and sides; at an early stage, armyworms may chew tunnels through the kernels; this destroys the endosperm, and leaves the exposed chewed areas susceptible to fungal and bacterial infections; heavy discolourations and moulds may result; the orange wheat blossom midge causes a distinct form of damage; grade tolerances for midge have existed for many years based primarily on the shrivelling and distortion of midge-damaged kernels; the tiny midge larvae feed directly on the developing kernels in the heads of wheat; the extent of damage largely depends on the number of larvae feeding on each kernel. Only recently have the full effects of midge damage on Canadian red spring bread wheat quality been studied, revealing the seriousness of midge damage to quality. The shrunken distorted grains reduce flour yields and produce dark flours with increased flour ash. Severely midge-damaged wheat exhibits weak, sticky dough properties, low baking absorption and poor bread quality. Protein content is abnormally high, but gluten protein quality is distinctly inferior. 2, record 80, English, - insect%20damage

2, record 99, French, - biovolatilisation
Record number: 99, Textual support number: 2 CONT
biovolatilisation [...]
