Cytokinesis is the concluding step of cell division by which the prospective daughter cells separate their cytoplasmic volumes. This process starts by contraction of a plasma-membrane-anchored actomyosin ring, leading to the formation of a cleavage furrow... By the end of furrowing, the dividing cells are connected by a narrow, tubular intercellular bridge, which contains the midbody consisting of tightly bundled antiparallel microtubules, which embrace a phase-dense circular structure called midbody ring(or occasionally Flemming body). At the final stage of cytokinesis, in a process termed abscission, this bridge is cleaved, and two daughter cells are formed.

Sand-wedge polygons(tesselations) in the McMurdo Sound region, Antarctica...-A microrelief pattern of polygons 20 to 40 feet in diameter occurs in the perennially frozen ground of the glacierfree lowlands of the McMurdo Sound region... They are similar to ice-wedge polygons in the Arctic except that they are in ground devoid of vegetation and are outlined by textural changes in the soil between the inter-polygonal furrow and the enclosed polygonal areas. The term 'sand wedge’ polygon is here proposed for this widespread phenomenon.... Suggested origin of the polygons and sand wedges is similar to the origin of foliated ice wedges and polygons in the Arctic.

Perhaps the most important farm implement used by the early settlers was the animal drawn plough. It was used to dig the soil and make it softer and better for the crops to grow. Most ploughs were pulled by teams of horses or oxen and were equipped with a ploughshare for cutting a furrow, a blade or coulter for forming the walls of the furrow and a mould board to shape the furrow.
