Record 1 2012-03-02

English

Subject field(s)
  • Petrography
DEF

A constituent intermediate between vitrinite and fusinite showing a well-defined structure of wood and sclerenchyma. The cell cavities, either round, oval, or elongated in cross section, vary in size but are generally smaller and sometimes less well defined than those of fusinite.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Pétrographie
DEF

Record 2 2012-03-02

English

Subject field(s)
  • Classification of Coal
  • Solid Fossil Fuels
DEF

[A] coal [which] consists of more than 50 percent of coarse stem and rhizome tissues which have been metamorphosed into fusinite and semifusinite, and show well-defined cell structure.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Classification des charbons
  • Combustibles fossiles solides
DEF

Record 3 2012-03-02

English

Subject field(s)
  • Petrography
OBS

... a collective term for constituents of the inertinite group... Inertodetrinite consists of small fragments and fine particles(approximately 2-20 microns in size) of varying, often splintery or angular form, for example, cell-wall fragments of fusinite, semi-fusinite and sclerotinite.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Pétrographie
DEF

Record 4 2012-03-02

English

Subject field(s)
  • Petrography
OBS

This term was proposed to simplify the nomenclature of coal petrography by combining, in a single term, the group of the following macerals : micrinite, semifusinite, fusinite, sclerotinite.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Pétrographie
DEF
