A production system is a human or computer system that has a data base of production rules and some control mechanism that selects applicable production rules in an effort to reach some goal state.

CONT

A key notion in the Newell-Simon scheme is the production system, in which an operation will be carried out if a certain specific condition is met. Programs consist of long sequences of such production systems operating on the data base. As described by the theorists, the production system is kind of a computational stimulus-response link; so long as the stimuli(or conditions) are appropriate, the response(or production) will be executed. In the course of developing the General Problem Solver, Simon and Newell have propounded a perspective on artificial intelligence, a theory of thinking, and an agenda for future research.

A set of production rules (which is called a production system) can be interpreted in two distinct ways. ... One way to interpret a production system is to work through the rules one by one until a rule is found for which the condition ... is true. ... Alternatively, the production system could be "run backwards", with the rules being run from "right to left".

Results are reported as the number of copies of HIV RNA per mL of blood plasma. The two types of HIV viral load test are reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and branched chain DNA (bDNA).

The viral load test provides important information that is used in conjunction with the CD4 cell count : to monitor the status of HIV disease, to guide recommendations for therapy, and to predict the future course of HIV.... A viral load test is ordered when a patient is first diagnosed with HIV. The test result functions as a baseline measurement that shows how actively the virus is reproducing and whether treatment is immediately necessary. If and when therapy is started, your doctor should order a viral load test and a CD4 count about two to eight weeks after you start a treatment to evaluate whether therapy is being effective.... If the viral load measurement is high, it indicates that HIV is reproducing and that the disease will likely progress faster than if the viral load is low.

There are several commercialized tests to determine HIV and hepatitis B blood plasma viral load. Viral load in semen plasma is used in the field of medically assisted reproduction when there is a risk for contamination with HIV, HBV [hepatitis B] or HCV [hepatitis C].

Budget 2006 provided $37 million over two years for the RCMP to expand the Depot to accommodate these new officers and build the capacity to train more officers in the future. Open GISs are integrated systems and tools that provide interoperability among data and processes for solving geospatial problems. One aspect of providing interoperability is to overcome the difficulties caused by the data conversion required in current GIS implementations. GIS users are usually faced with the problem of converting geospatial data from many sources and GIS platforms; it has been found that up to 80% of the time and cost of any GIS implementation is spent on populating the GIS database. Open GISs are expected to overcome this obstacle by utilizing geospatial metadata and spatial data transfer standards. Although opinions currently differ on geospatial data and geoprocessing standardization and on the specifics of the architecture of open GISs, it is generally agreed that, at a minimum, they should automate the task of populating GIS databases. In addition to data interoperability, open GISs should facilitate simple strategies for application development(model integration), and provide solutions on highly distributed heterogeneous computing environments that include computing resources ranging from desktop machines to supercomputers. This course addresses the current trends and approaches for building open GISs and discusses future directions for these GISs. Also covered are the benefits of open GISs to GIS users and developers. A planned donation is a course of action, usually of a legal nature, that has the purpose of giving property or an asset to a recipient at a given moment in the future. Such transfers can be made during the benefactor's lifetime, but are most often executed after his death and can even be conditional on the prior death of a primary beneficiary, such as a spouse. For this reason, planned donations are often confused with bequests.

Psychologist Mihaly Czikszentmihalyi(1990) has studied optimal or "autotelic" experiences-what he refers to as "flow experiences. "The word "autotelic' derives from two Greek words, ’auto’ meaning self, and ’telos’ meaning goal. It refers to a self-contained activity, one that is done not with the expectation of some future benefit, but simply because the doing itself is the reward, i. e., compelling mental focus. Czikszentmihalyi explains, "The autotelic experience, or flow, lifts the course of life to a different level. Alienation gives way to involvement, enjoyment replaces boredom, helplessness turns into a feeling of control, and psychic energy works to reinforce the sense of self, instead of being lost in the service of external goals".
