Sellers and buyers of futures contracts naturally have opposing interests.... Sellers or buyers may be unable to close out with losses and may be forced to deliver or accept delivery at a disadvantage. Futures markets avoid this situation by involving a third interest group which speculates, or "trades on anticipated fluctuations in prices". 2, record 2, English, - fluctuations%20in%20prices

1, record 2, French, - fluctuations%20de%20prix

The Coffee, Sugar & Cocoa Exchange, Inc., known initially as the Coffee Exchange of the City of New York, was founded in 1882. The Exchange was formed by a group of coffee merchants who wished to avoid the risk of a cash market collapse by organizing a market for trading in coffee futures. In 1914, the Coffee Exchange expanded to include futures in sugar, and, in 1916, it became the New York Coffee and Sugar Exchange, Inc. On September 28, 1979, the New York Cocoa Exchange, Inc., which had been in existence since 1925, was officially merged into the Coffee and Sugar Exchange, and the name Coffee, Sugar & Cocoa Exchange, Inc. was adopted. 2, record 4, English, - Coffee%2C%20Sugar%20%26%20Cocoa%20Exchange%2C%20Inc%2E
