A natural, waxy mixture of paraffinic hydrocarbons.

CONT

Ozocerite occurs in rocks found in Utah, Galicia, Australia, and in Romania near the Caspian Sea. The light yellow to dark brown mineral wax is used as a substitute for beeswax and carnauba wax in polishes, candles, printing inks, crayons, sealing waxes, phonograph records, and insulation. It is also used for leather polish, lithographic and printing inks, carbon paper, floor polishes, waxed paper, and textile sizing.

When purified by boiling and alkali treatments, ozocerite is called ceresin wax.

The Galician Pony is found in Galicia, in the northwest of Spain. This is a region with a very wet climate and numerous low mountains. This breed is used for meat production and for riding. Its size is between that of a pony and a normal horse. These animals are very rugged and hardy.

A cultural property which the committee thinks may be worthy of preservation may be included on the official register on a temporary basis for not more than one year, during which time the committee shall investigate the property and make a determination as to whether it may be permanently placed on the official register. If the cultural property is on private land, the temporary classification shall not be considered a taking of private property, but the owner may receive a fair rental value for the part of the land affected if the temporary classification unduly interferes with the owner’s normal use of land.
