A variation of basic pocket billiards played in championship competition. This game differs from basic pocket billiards chiefly in 2 respects. First, the player is required to designate both the ball he intends to pocket and the pocket. Failure to make the called shot is a miss and ends his inning. Second, once 14 balls have been pocketed, they are racked again. The player continues play by pocketing the 15th ball and caroming the cue ball into the racked balls or by driving a called ball from the racked balls into a pocket. Each time 14 balls have been pocketed, they are reracked and play continues to the end of the game. The number of points set for a game is usually 125 or 150. 1, record 7, English, - 14%2E1%20continuous

Any stroke that for some reason is replayed without penalty. In an average game, only two types of let are encountered : 1) when called solely in respect of a service that one service only shall be replayed; 2) when called under any other circumstance, the point shall be replayed. For instance, a serve that nicks the top of the net, then bounces in the proper service court is to be replayed. By extension, also a call made by the umpire or by one of the players to indicate that a point should be replayed because of a stray ball rolling across the court. Sometimes the term "let" is mistakenly referred to as a "net serve". A "let" is also played if, for instance, the receiver of a service is not ready to start; if one player involuntarily hinders his opponent; or if a player is hindered in playing by an external agency. 2, record 10, English, - let

Caution: If the ball touches the net on a service, the net judge will call "net", or sometimes "filet"(French Open). The umpire, however, will call "let", since "let" is the official call he must make. This distinction is not always upheld in social play, where informally one hears the following expressions: "two", "take two", or "play two", i.e. take two serves since the first one touched the net (and landed in), "play one", "take one", "second serve", i.e. first serve touched the net and landed out. The game of curling is played with circular curling stones made of granite. Very precise specifications govern the size and shape of the rocks. No curling stone shall be greater in weight than 44 pounds(19. 95 kilograms) or greater in circumference than 36 inches(91. 44 centimeters), which means a diameter of 11. 46 inches(29. 19 centimeters). The height of a stone shall not be less than 4. 5 inches(11. 4 centimeters). The part of the stone that is held during the delivery is called the handle. The striking edge is a band around the circumference where one rock contacts another. The bottom of the curling rock does not entirely contact the ice surface. In fact, the stone is ground like a shallow cup on the bottom so only the lip of the cup is actually in contact with the ice. This riding surface, or cup, is 5 inches in diameter and 1/8 inch wide. 4, record 19, English, - cup

Basket: this is the version known in the USA and Macao as Jai Alai. In Basque it’s called saski-pilota (literally: basket-ball) and cesta-punta in Spanish. It uses a special glove that extends into a long pointed curved basket (hence the name), no more than 60 cm long in straight line nor 110 cm by curved line. Rubber ball. The players use it to catch the ball and propel it back against the main court. Again, only for men. 1, record 23, English, - jai%20alai

Hockey took its most important step forward in 1924 when the International Hockey Federation, the world governing body for the sport, was founded in Paris under the initiative of Frenchman, Paul Léautey. Mr. Léautey, who would become the first President of the FIH, was motivated to action following hockey's omission from the program of the 1924 Paris Games. Mr. Léautey called together representatives from seven national federations to form the sport's international governing body, the Fédération Internationale de Hockey sur Gazon... The women's game developed quickly in many countries and in 1927, the International Federation of Women's Hockey Associations(IFWHA) was formed.... After celebrating their respective Golden Jubilees-the FIH in 1974 and the IFWHA in 1980-the two organisations came together in 1982 to form the FIH. 3, record 24, English, - International%20Hockey%20Federation

An American form of billiards, sometimes called "French billiards", played usually by 2 players on a 9-foot by 4 1/2-foot or a 10-foot by 5-foot table, without pockets using a white, a spot white, and a red ball. The object of the game is to score points by driving the cue ball into each of the 2 object balls in succession. 2, record 40, English, - carom%20billiards

1, record 40, French, - billard%20europ%C3%A9en
