Radiofrequency gangliolysis(RFG) involves wounding the gasserian ganglion, the large, flat root of the trigeminal nerve. Guided by x-ray technology, the surgeon inserts a needle through the cheek and into the rootlets behind the gasserian ganglion to inject a radiofrequency current. This current heats and destroys selected portions of the gasserian ganglion thought to be responsible for the pain. 3, record 4, English, - percutaneous%20radiofrequency%20gangliolysis

The optic nerve conveys visual information from the retina to the brain. The nerve carries the axons of the retinal ganglion cells which sort at the optic chiasm and continue via the optic tracts to the brain. The largest projection is to the lateral geniculate nuclei; other important targets include the superior colliculi and the suprachiasmatic nuclei. Though known as the second cranial nerve, it is considered part of the central nervous system. 2, record 10, English, - optic%20nerve

1, record 10, French, - nerf%20optique
