Factors influencing the filtration performance of geotextile can be classified into four categories-external conditions(hydraulic gradient and loading state) ;(bio) chemical conditions of fluent(pH, hardness(e. g. [Fe], [Mn], [Mg], [Ca]), redox potential(Eh) for iron ochre, BOD and COD of water(substrate type/concentration), osmotic pressure and dissolved oxygen) ;the properties of basement material(coefficient of uniformity(Cu), coefficient of gradation(Cc), plastic index(PI), double hydrometer ratio(DHR) for dispersive clay, particle shape and grain hardness for granular soil, compaction degree of soil and saturation degree) ;and the properties of geotextile(filtration opening size(FOS), apparent opening size(AOS), fiber density, textile bulk density(mass/area), porosity, thickness and fiber material)... screen test results clearly indicated that the height of self filtration is proportional to the constriction size(Dc) of granular filter used. Additionally, they suggested the filter opening size value should be within the range between d50 and d80 for linearly graded soil and within the flat range in gap graded soil. 2, record 1, English, - opening%20size

Nucleic acid testing, called NAT by blood banks, promises to close that gap. It could virtually eliminate the few cases of HIV that taint blood every year, said Dr. Celso Bianco of the New York Blood Center. And experts predict it will prevent an estimated 84 annual cases of hepatitis C transmission through blood, the vast majority. The government hasn’t mandated NAT-tested blood yet because technically it's still experimental. Genetic fingerprinting is commonplace in laboratories, where it's called PCR, for polymerase chain reaction testing. But how to test the entire blood supply raises questions, and blood banks are using different strategies to implement the new technology. 3, record 2, English, - nucleic%20acid%20testing

The gaps-in-noise test was then conducted on all subjects. The mean gap detection threshold was 4. 19 msec [milliseconds]. A psychometric function by gap duration was constructed, revealing that the percentage of correct responses was less than or equal to 5% for a gap duration of 2 msec, 10-30% for a gap duration of 3 msec, 60-70% for a gap duration of 4 msec, and over 96% for gap durations of 5 msec or longer. 1, record 3, English, - gaps%2Din%2Dnoise%20test
