Record 1 2023-01-10

English

Subject field(s)
  • Natural Gas and Derivatives
  • Oil and Natural Gas Extraction
CONT

The purpose of the [Mackenzie Gas Project] is to develop and produce currently stranded onshore natural gas and associated [natural gas liquids] from the three anchor fields..., and to transport that natural gas and [natural gas liquids] to Alberta and to consumers throughout North America.

Record 2 2012-07-05

English

Subject field(s)
  • Oil and Natural Gas Extraction
CONT

The pipeline is being designed with the potential, with the installation of 11 additional compressor stations and other facilities, to expand from an initial capacity of 1. 2 Bcf/d [billion cubic feet per day] to an expansion capacity of 1. 8 Bcf/d. This expansion capacity scenario would proceed only if additional natural gas fields, other than that of the anchor fields, were discovered, developed and put into production, probably involving parties other than, or at least in addition to, any of the proponents.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Extraction du pétrole et du gaz naturel
CONT

The project centres on a gas pipeline from Inuvik to northwest Alberta, a natural gas liquids pipeline from Inuvik to an existing oil pipeline at Norman Wells, and development and production from three anchor fields.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Transport du pétrole et du gaz naturel
  • Gaz naturel et dérivés
CONT

However, while the three anchor fields and associated gathering facilities are capableof delivering 0. 83 Bcf/d, the gas pipeline in the project as filed has three compressor stations and a heater station to provide an initial capacity of 1. 2 Bcf/d.

Record 7 2000-03-15

English

Subject field(s)
  • Equipment (Oil and Natural Gas Extraction)
  • Oil Production
DEF

A tubular, perforated device that is attached to the bottom of a sucker-rod pump and serves to prevent failure of the pump (gas lock) because of gas entry into the pump.

OBS

The device works on the principle that gas is lighter than oil and rises. As well fluids enter the anchor, the gas breaks out of the fluid and exits the anchor through perforations near the top. The remaining fluids enter the pump through a mosquito bill(a tube within the anchor), which has an opening near the bottom of the anchor. In this way, all or most of the gas is given the opportunity to escape before the fluids enter the pump.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Outillage (Extraction du pétrole et du gaz)
  • Production pétrolière
DEF

Dispositif placé sous la pompe d'un puits pour en éviter le désamorçage.
