Some authors suggest the removal of any glial tissue overlying(or adjacent to) the optic pit. One study looked at nine patients undergoing PPV [pars plana vitrectomy], PVD [posterior vitreous detachment] induction, laser photocoagulation and gas tamponade. Serous maculopathy resolved in six out of six patients in which the glial tissue surrounding the optic pit was removed.... Though glial tissue peeling has proven beneficial in a limited group of studies, precaution must be taken when performing this procedure due to the glial tissue's close proximity to the optic nerve. 2, record 1, English, - glial%20tissue%20peeling

Vitrectomy is a surgical procedure undertaken by a specialist where the vitreous humor gel that fills the eye cavity is removed to provide better access to the retina. This allows for a variety of repairs, including the removal of scar tissue, laser repair of retinal detachments and treatment of macular holes. Once surgery is complete, saline, a gas bubble or silicone oil may be injected into the vitreous gel to help hold the retina in position. 3, record 2, English, - vitrectomy

Lasers TEA.

1, record 27, French, - indice%20de%20r%C3%A9fraction%20du%20milieu

Null-shift or bias errors are caused by a laser cavity, which is anisotropic with respect to the light beams traveling in opposite directions. The primary mechanism causing an anisotropic cavity is the flow of the laser medium(helium-neon gas) moving in the cavity. This flow can be attributed to two effects that is, thermal gradients... in the cavity, and unbalanced laser discharge current. 1, record 30, English, - anisotropic%20cavity

Optoacoustic detector. Light which is absorbed by a molecule is generally reradiated from the molecule in the form of heat. If a laser, at an absorbing wavelength of a gas of interest, is passed through a closed cell, the temperature of the entire gas in the cell will rise and thus the pressure of the gas in the cell will rise. If the laser is turned on and off at a frequency of 100-20000 Hz, the resulting pressure rises and drops can be picked up as a signal by sensitive microphones. This somewhat odd combination of optics and acoustics turns out to have several advantages over systems which measure the absorption directly. The absorption will be quite small and thus the change in intensity of the laser beam is nearly impossible to detect. Because pressure in the cell rises more quickly for small length cells, this effect exactly cancels out gains in overall absorption by making the cell longer. Thus, a small optoacoustic cell will accomplish the same as a larger cell making its size a great asset.... The device is being tested as a sniffer for bomb vapours and for ambient air analyses. 1, record 40, English, - optoacoustic%20detector
