Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 DEF
A chemical compound which appears under the form of a noncombustible, asphyxiating, colourless, sweet-tasting gas, is soluble in alcohol, ether, and concentrated sulfuric acid, is slightly soluble in water, is derived by thermal decomposition of ammonium nitrate, controlled reduction of nitriles or nitrates, supports combustion, can form explosive mixture with air, narcotic in high concentration, and is used as an anesthetic in dentistry and surgery, a propellant gas in food aerosols, and for leak detection. 9, record 1, English, - dinitrogen%20oxide
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 OBS
Nitrous oxide is destroyed by ultraviolet light and has a 150-year residence time in the atmosphere. Concentrations of nitrous oxide are increasing presently at about 0.3%, or 0.7 ppb [part per billion], per year. A 50% increase of the present concentration would raise the mean global temperature between 0.2 and 0.5 C. 10, record 1, English, - dinitrogen%20oxide

Mass analyzers are systems designed to identify and measure materials according to their molecular weights. The technique has been adapted for many other applications ranging from physics research and the identification of complex molecular structure to assuring the integrity of the fuel systems on the space shuttle and routine helium leak detection. While the uses of mass analyzers in the microelectronics industry include some exotic applications, such as SIMS, the greatest number of systems are used for various types of gas analysis. Applications for mass analyzers include process monitoring, process engineering and control in such areas as evaporation, MBE, sputter etch and deposition, plasma etch and deposition, ion, implantation, LPCVD, CVD, and diffusion furnaces. Another important application is high purity gas certification and electronic gas mixture verification. 2, record 2, English, - mass%20analyser

Method and device for detecting a leak from a fuel element of an assembly for a nuclear reactor. The detection of the defective fuel assemblies may be effected under water in the pool, by acoustic, ultrasonic or eddy current methods of measurement. It is also possible to use cells called sipping test containers in which the release of radioactive products by the fuel assembly is promoted, these radioactive products being subsequently carried away by the water or a gas into a unit enabling them to be detected. 1, record 3, English, - sipping%20test%20container
