GAS PRICE [23 records]

Record 1 2023-05-31

English

Subject field(s)
  • Environmental Economics
  • Climate Change
CONT

The output-based pricing system is designed to ensure there is a price incentive for companies to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and spur innovation while maintaining competitiveness … Instead of paying the charge on fuels that they purchase, industrial facilities in the system will face a carbon price on the portion of their emissions that are above a limit, which will be determined based on relevant output-based standards(emissions per unit of output).

French

Domaine(s)
  • Économie environnementale
  • Changements climatiques
CONT

  • Oil and Gas Distribution Facilities
CONT

Since the early 1970s, gas prices have moved from being negotiated between producers and large pipeline companies to being the fully administered, fixed ratios of the oil price that they are at present.

OBS

As a pipeline may be used for the transportation of oil ("oil pipeline") or natural gas ("gas pipeline"), the English term "pipeline company" is more general than the French term "société de gazoducs."

French

Domaine(s)
  • Transport du pétrole et du gaz naturel
  • Install. de distrib. (Pétrole et gaz naturel)
OBS

Natural gas prices, as with other commodity prices, are mainly driven by supply and demand fundamentals. However, natural gas prices may also be linked to the price of crude oil and/or petroleum products, especially in continental Europe.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Lois du marché (Économie)
CONT

TAGA. The Trace Atmospheric Gas Analyser was developed at the University of Toronto and SCIEX Ltd. The device uses a quadrapole mass spectrometer in continuous operational mode. System sensitivity is high(ppt levels), selectivity for various pollutants is good, and can be used in a mobile environment. EPS is evaluating the device for a monitoring role. The system is quite expensive(well over $100, 000) and requires a high level of expertise to operate. Because of its price it will probably be limited to use by organizations conducting large atmospheric surveys.

The dust-extracting and heat recovery systems are extremely important auxiliary components. Thorough washing is necessary to bring the DS content of the gases below 200 mg/Nm3. This figure can only be lowered below 100 mg/Nm3 by electrostatic dust-extraction but for this improvement the gas must be cooled to 200 ° C. This means that the cost of a heat recovery boiler may have to be added to the already high price of an electrostatic dust extractor.

French

Domaine(s)

CONT
