We have used biomass energy or "bioenergy"-the energy from plants and plant-derived materials-since people began burning wood to cook food and keep warm. Wood is still the largest biomass energy resource today, but other sources of biomass can also be used. These include food crops, grassy and woody plants, residues from agriculture or forestry, and the organic component of municipal and industrial wastes. Even the fumes from landfills(which are methane, a natural gas) can be used as a biomass energy source. 3, record 12, English, - bioenergy

Welcome to the Clean Coal Technology Roadmap Website. Rationale : Technological advances are the key to Canada finding environmental solutions toward reducing greenhouse gases and other deleterious pollutant emissions from the use of coal. We must continue to harness the energy from our enormous coal deposits. Canada has over eight billion tonnes of proven coal reserves, storing more energy than all of our oil, natural gas and oil sands combined. Our Mission : Looking into the future, identify technology pathways needed to allow coal to be used as a competitive environmentally clean energy resource for the production of electricity. 1, record 21, English, - clean%20coal%20technology%20roadmap

1, record 21, French, - carte%20routi%C3%A8re%20technologique%20du%20charbon%20%C3%A9cologique

Gas Hydrate is an ice-like crystalline solid formed from a mixture of water and natural gas, usually methane. They occur in the pore spaces of sediments, and may form cements, nodes or layers.... Gas Hydrate is found in sub-oceanic sediments in the polar regions(shallow water) and in continental slope sediments(deep water), where pressure and temperature conditions combine to make it stable.... Natural Gas Hydrate contains highly concentrated methane, which is important both as an energy resource and as a factor in global climate change. 2, record 22, English, - gas%20hydrate

2, record 22, French, - hydrate%20de%20gaz
