A drill developed in the U.S.S.R. for drilling deep oil wells. One type is designed as a turbine and driven by the drilling fluid which is circulated at high pressure. 4, record 1, English, - turbodrill
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
There are two types of turbodrill or down-hole mud motor : the turbine, of which there are about six successful types, and the Dynadrill, a Moyno pump operating in reverse, consisting of a spiral shaft contained within a rubber sleeve.... The down-hole turbine is basically similar to a gas turbine having a multi-stage stator and rotor. 5, record 1, English, - turbodrill
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 2 CONT
When a turbodrill is used, rotary motion is imparted only at the bit; therefore, it is not necessary to rotate the drill stem. Although straight holes can be drilled with the tool, it is used often in directional drilling. 6, record 1, English, - turbodrill

6, record 1, French, - turbo%2Dforeuse
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
7, record 1, French, - turbo%2Dforeuse

A rotary engine that extracts energy from a fluid flow. 2, record 3, English, - turbine
Record number: 3, Textual support number: 1 OBS
The simplest turbines have one moving part, a rotor assembly, which is a shaft with blades attached. Moving fluid acts on the blades, or the blades react to the flow, so that they rotate and impart energy to the rotor. Early turbine examples are windmills and water wheels. Gas, steam, and water turbines have a casing around the blades that contains and controls the working fluid. 2, record 3, English, - turbine

2, record 3, French, - turbine
