Cette définition très large du terme «tractus gastro-intestinal» nous surprend étant donné que l'adjectif «gastro-intestinal» est défini partout comme suit : «qui se rapporte à l'estomac et à l'intestin». Le LAROG rejoint la source anglaise GOMED, qui donne «gastro-intestinal tract» comme un synonyme de «alimentary canal» (en français : «tube, ou tractus, digestif»).
