A gender-based analysis(GBA) is a tool to both understand the local context and to support gender equality. A GBA examines the relationships between men and women, girls and boys, their access to resources, their activities, and the constraints they face relative to each other in a particular context. Queer City Cinema(based in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada-The Queen City) is the largest and oldest ongoing lesbian and gay film and video festival between British Columbia and Ontario. This biennial festival was initiated in 1996, and saw its last installment in April/May 2004 with over 100 titles programmed over nine days.
