Enterprise data centers have an insatiable appetite for bandwidth. This is being driven by virtualization, cloud computing, storage area networks and a host of other factors that are causing a steady proliferation of fiber connections and ever-faster links.... Multi-fiber push-on("MPO") fiber trunks have become the default cabling solution to these ever-increasing data center bandwidth requirements. Because they are a natural fit for parallel optics, these fiber links are compact, pre-terminated, able to handle bandwidth all the way up to 100 Gbps [gigabits per second], and even plug-and-play by design. 2, record 1, English, - multi%2Dfibre%20push%2Don%20fibre%20trunk

Multi-Gigabit Data Rate Approach-... In order to detect the 2 Gbps PQM data stream, two optical receivers, each capable of detecting a 1 Gbps PDBM optical pulse train, are required. Very sensitive avalanche photodiodes with rise times less than 250 ps have developed and are presently being evaluated. Similar devices with slightly longer rise times have been evaluated 1 Gbps and were found to have a sensitivity comparable to the developed 1 Gbps Dynamic Crossed Field Photomultiplier Tubes(DCFP) with a photocathode quantum efficiency of 20%. It is expected that the new high speed devices will have comparable sensitivity. 1, record 2, English, - dynamic%20crossed%20field%20photomultiplier%20tube

Système à débit binaire de l'ordre de plusieurs gigabits. (...) 1, record 2, French, - tube%20photomultiplicateur%20dynamique%20%C3%A0%20champs%20crois%C3%A9s

High data rate intersatellite communications will be needed in applications such as short range links between clusters of satellites in one or adjacent orbital slots, medium range links forming a network in LEO(Low Earth Orbit) and MEO(Medium Earth Orbit) constellations, and longer links between GEO(Geostationary Orbit) satellites. This requires optical intersatellite links or satellite to ground communications links with digital data transfer at 10 Gbps at ranges of 10 000 kilometres. 2, record 4, English, - optical%20intersatellite%20link

Syringa Networks LLC has selected Martin Group, a provider of engineering solutions, consulting services and operations support systems(OSS), to engineer a fiber-optic, broadband communications network that will provide fully survivable bandwidth across southern Idaho. Initially, the network will provide 5 Gbps of capacity, which would be capable of approximately 65, 000 simultaneous telephone conversations. When complete, the Syringa network will provide high-speed, high-capacity voice and data transmission for nearly 60 rural telephone exchanges served by a dozen independent telcos. 1, record 5, English, - survivable%20bandwidth
