Both gear-and gerotor-type pumps are used in the lubricating system of the turbine engine.... The Gerotor pump has two moving parts : an inner-toothed element meshing with an outer-toothed element. The inner element has one less tooth than the outer. The missing tooth provides a chamber to move the fluid from the intake to the discharge port. Both elements are mounted eccentrically to one another on the same shaft.

The B-747 has four hydraulic systems. Systems 4, 1 and 2 are used for providing pressure to the brake system. Each system is pressurized by an engine driven pump(EDP) and an air driven pump(ADP) which move due to the air circulating in the pneumatic system. This type of burner atomizes the oil by spinning it in a thin film from a horizontal rotating cup and injecting high velocity primary air into the oil film through an annular nozzle which surrounds the rim of the atomizing cup.
