Prime Minister Stephen Harper today [21 November 2006] established an Advisory Committee of nine eminent Canadians to advise him and the Clerk of the Privy Council on the renewal and future development of the Public Service of Canada. The main objective of the Advisory Committee on the Public Service will be to help shape a national institution, geared to excellence, which is distinguished by highly-engaged and highly-skilled people performing critical tasks with a professionalism and efficiency that rivals any organization anywhere.
