Pure LSD [lysergic acid diethylamide] is a white, crystalline powder that dissolves in water. It is odourless and has a slightly bitter taste. An effective dose of the pure drug is too small to see(20 to 80 micrograms). LSD is usually packaged in squares of LSD-soaked paper("blotters"), miniature powder pellets("microdots") or gelatin chips("window pane"). The right kind of chicken always comes as a whole bird. If you have never cooked a whole chicken before, don’t be daunted. These are full of gelatin and help make wonderful chicken stock(broth). Also, tell him to keep the fattest birds for you. Much of the goodness of a properly raised bird is in the fat! A hydrophilic colloidal material used largely in food products as emulsifying, thickening and gelling agents. They readily absorb water, thus increasing viscosity and imparting smoothness and body texture to the product, even in concentrations of less than 1%. Natural types are plant exudates(gum arabic), seaweed extracts(agar), plant seed gums or mucilages(guar gum), cereal gums(starches), fermentation gums(dextran), and animal products(gelatin). Semisynthetic types are modified celluloses and modified starches. Completely synthetic types are also available, e. g., polyvinylpyrrolidone. 2, record 35, French, - chimio%2Dembolisation

The tabular grains are produced by the method of injecting the silver into the gelatin. Fuji and Ilford also make tabular grain films but call them by different names. In the chromogenic processes, three selectively light sensitive layers in the silver halide emulsion are exposed to light. Initially, a black and white, silver halide, latent image is chemically developed to form a negative on all three layers. During this stage, the developer used to convert the exposed silver halide to metallic silver becomes oxidized. The oxidized developer combines with color couplers initiating the selective formation of cyan, magenta and yellow dyes within discrete layers of the emulsion. The image silver is then bleached and unexposed silver halide is removed by fixing. 3, record 69, English, - image%20silver

Indian or ’Cochin’ lemon grass oil, the principal lemon grass oil of commerce, is from C. flexuosos which is indigenous to India, and the so-called ’West Indian’ oil is from C. citratus which is widely cultivated in India, Guatemala, Haiti, East and West Africa, and other tropical countries. The Indian oil is a reddish-yellow or brownish-red mobile liquid with a very stong verbana-like odour, while the ’West Indian’ oil is pale yellow to yellowish-brown and has an odour similar to but somewhat lighter in character than that of the indian oil. 2, record 97, English, - lemongrass%20oil

An electrorheological fluid is a substance whose form changes in the presence of electric fields. Depending on the strength of the field to which it is subjected, an electrorheological fluid can run freely like water, ooze like honey or solidity like gelatin. Indeed, the substance can switch from one state to another within a few milliseconds. 1, record 98, English, - electrorheological%20fluid

[A microencapsulation process] similar to the liquid surfactant membrane has been developed which gives a permanent membrane [Kitajema et al. 1969). This, so-called, liquid drying method is carried out by emulsifying an aqueous solution of the enzyme in an organic solvent which has a boiling point lower than that of water(usually benzene, cyclohexane, or chloroform). The organic solvent also contains the membrane-forming polymer and surfactants. The emulsion is then dispersed in an aqueous medium, which contains protective colloidal substances(gelatin, polyvinylchloride) and surfactants, to give a second emulsion. Removal of the organic solvent by, for example, rotary evaporation from the second emulsion results in the formation of the microencapsulated enzymes. 2, record 99, English, - liquid%20drying%20method
Record number: 99, Textual support number: 1 OBS
The major advantage of this procedure is that no deactivation of the enzyme can occur as a result of monomer interactions due to the preformed polymer being used. Disadvantages of the procedure include the low yields of the microcapsules produced, due to problems of preparing the second emulsion, and the time required to completely remove the organic solvent which is essential for membrane production. 2, record 99, English, - liquid%20drying%20method
